APSU Woodward Library Society to have fall program
Clarksville, TN – The Woodward Library Society at Austin Peay State University will hold its annual fall program next week, featuring a presentation by a history faculty member from Purdue University.

Famed Brentano String Quartet to perform at APSU on October 19th
Clarksville, TN – The Brentano String Quartet, one of the world’s pre-eminent chamber music ensembles, will visit Austin Peay State University at 7:30pm on October 19th for a special performance in the Music/Mass Communication Building Concert Hall.
The event is hosted by the Clarksville Community Concert Association, which works to bring world-class and engaging artists of the highest quality to the local community.
Halloween fun for the family at Kleeman Community Center’s Creepy Carnival October 26th

APSU to begin new concert series Friday at The Gilroy
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will begin a three-concert series leading up to Homecoming.
The City Lights Concert Series, sponsored by The Gilroy, Budweiser of Clarksville and APSU Alumni Relations, will begin Friday, October 12th. APSU alumni, friends and fans are invited.

Salvation Army Angel Tree Sign Up begins October 22nd
Clarksville, TN – The Salvation Army will be taking applications for its Christmas Assistance program at 210 Kraft Street, Clarksville, for residents of Montgomery County, Stewart County, and Houston County the weeks of October 22nd-26th and October 29th-November 2nd.
Applications will be taken from 9:00am until 4:00pm. All low-income families needing toys for their children (ages birth thru 12 years) and Seniors, age 60 and over, needing food assistance may apply. No applications will be taken after these dates. [Read more]

Austin Peay State University Provost Lecture Series to focus on service learning in college courses
Clarksville, TN – Incorporating service learning into the college curriculum is a growing instructional tool, one that will be explored further at the next Provost Lecture Series at Austin Peay State University.
Three women – Naomi Rendina, adjunct instructor of history at APSU, Alexandra Wills, assistant director of service and civic engagement at APSU, and Lisa Kurtz, representative with Americorps VISTA – will present “Beyond the Classroom: Enriching Community Partnerships to Promote Student Success” at 3:00pm, Thursday, October 11th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303.
