Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County will dedicate its 80th home October 20th
Clarksville, TN – Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, TN will dedicate its 80th home to Nancy Medley and Sherman Meriwether in partnership with the Habitat for Humanity Board of Directors.

Entries now being accepted for the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government have partnered with Agero to host the 53rd Annual Christmas Parade.
The parade will be a night-time, lighted Christmas parade and is scheduled for December 1st, 2012 beginning at 5:00pm.
This year’s parade will feature both the Austin Peay State University Governors Own Marching Band and the Tennessee State University Band, dozens of businesses and organizations, as well as Santa Claus.
APSU Provost Lecture Series to feature video on Dorothy Dix Collection
Clarksville, TN – Video production about the comprehensive Dorothy Dix Collection at Austin Peay State University will be the next project presented at the Provost Lecture Series.
Kathy Heuston, associate professor of communication at APSU, and Inga Filippo, professor and instructional librarian at APSU, will share the video Heuston and her students created at 3:00pm, Thursday, October 18th in the Morgan University Center, Room 303. All sessions of the Provost Lecture Series are free and open to the public.

APSU to hold fundraiser Dinner October 26th for new History Scholarship Endowment
Clarksville, TN – To celebrate the accomplishments and service of World War II veteran and faculty emeritus Preston John Hubbard, Austin Peay State University will hold a dinner to raise money for a scholarship endowment in his honor.
The Preston Hubbard Scholarship Dinner will be held at 7:00pm, Friday, October 26th in the Morgan University Center Ballroom. Cost is $25.00 per person, with the proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund to help deserving history students. [Read more]
Montgomery County Government Offices to collect food for Manna Café
Montgomery County, TN – The holidays are quickly approaching and it’s the time of year when many in our community need assistance. Montgomery County Government is partnering with Manna Café Ministries to host a county-wide food drive.
All county offices will be collecting non-perishable food items beginning Monday, October 15th and going through the month of November. Donations will be distributed through Manna Café to those needing assistance. If you are interested in donating, look for the box marked Manna Café Food Donation located inside all county offices.
