Jammin’ in the Alley concert series announces this summer’s Line-Up
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville’s Parks and Recreation department is excited to announce the line-up for this summer’s Jammin’ in the Alley.
The annual summer concert series, presented by U.S. Bank, is now in its 5th season and will feature a variety of local talent. In addition to the live music, downtown restaurants will offer outdoor dining for concert-goers.
Madeline Haller named next Principal for Rossview Elementary School
Montgomery County, TN – Clarksville Montgomery County School Systems Director Mike Harris has appointed Madeline Haller as the next principal for Rossview Elementary School.
She will replace Paula Ford who is retiring this year.
7th Annual Frolic on Franklin Applications now Available
Clarksville, TN – Applications are now being accepted for booth space at the 7th annual “Frolic on Franklin: A Celebration of the Arts.” The event will be held on Saturday, September 15th from 9:00am-4:00pm in the 100-block of historic Franklin Street.
Coordinated by the Roxy Regional Theatre, the street event offers 30 vendor spaces where artists can showcase and sell fine arts and hand-crafted items, such as photography, paintings and drawings, pottery, jewelry, glass items, and more. 34th Annual Queen City Road Race results are in
Clarksville, TN – The results are in for the 34th Annual Queen City Road Race presented by Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department and Cumberland Bank & Trust. The 5K race, 5K relay race and non-competitive One Mile Movement took place Sunday, May 6th at Austin Peay State University.
This year’s Queen City Road Race welcomed nearly 2,000 participants!

APSU Psychology Student Caitlin Nelms to conduct Neuroscience Research at Vanderbilt this summer

Clarksville, TN – On a recent afternoon, Austin Peay State University psychology student Caitlin Nelms was in the library, checking her email, when she noticed a message sitting in her junk mail folder. It had been there a few days.
When she clicked on it, the message informed her that she was the sole recipient of a prestigious summer internship offered through the Middle Tennessee Chapter of the Society of Neuroscience’s and Vanderbilt University’s Summer Science Academy.

Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club Welcomed Major General James C. McConville To Austin Peay State University
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Sunrise Rotary Club welcomed special speaker Commanding General of 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, Kentucky, Major General James C. McConville to this morning’s breakfast on the campus of Austin Peay State University.
The breakfast was attended by city leaders including Austin Peay State University President Tim Hall and Rotarian members from both the Clarksville Sunrise Rotary and the Clarksville Rotary clubs.

Annual TWRA and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo
Nashville, TN – The Annual Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency and Clarksville Parks and Recreation Youth Fishing Rodeo will be held Saturday, June 9th, 2012 at the Liberty Park Pond in Clarksville Tennessee.
The 2012 Free Fishing Day in Tennessee is also Saturday, June 9th when anyone in the state may fish free without a license in Tennessee’s public waters. [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Summer Reading Registration begins on May 12th, 2012 at the Clarksville-Montgomery County Public Library. There will be Summer Reading Programs for all ages, even ADULTS!
Join the Summer Reading Program, it begins June 11th, 2012 through July 13th, 2012. This program is free and everyone is encouraged to participate.
