Clarksville City Council - Ward 1Clarksville TN – The ‘Wounded Warrior Welcome Project’ was formed in 2011 to welcome home injured soldiers who were returning to Middle Tennessee. The Project has organized welcome homes for more than a half dozen soldiers returning from their stays at Army Medical Hospitals in Washington D.C. and Texas.

In addition, we made 4 trips to Walter Reed Medical Hospital in 2011 and will be making another visit this month. [Read more]

Paralympic Sport – Clarksville is a community-based sports club developed to involve youth and adults, including active duty service members and veterans, with physical and visual disabilities in ongoing sports and physical activity, regardless of skill level. Hilltop SupermarketClarksville, TN – Hilltop Super Market will hold their 3rd annual BBQ Cook Off May 11th and 12th, 2012. On Friday night, there will be a car show, live music, and food. Saturday, the BBQ Cook Off begins.

There will be cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishing teams as well as trophy prizes. The Categories this year include ribs, chicken, pork and brisket. The pork and brisket categories have been added this year.

Montgomery County Free Driving Program sees Overwhelming Response

Montgomery CountyMontgomery County, TN – Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for ages 15-19 in the United States.

In an effort to lower this statistic, the Montgomery County Driver Safety Program provided a free Defensive Driving Course, Alive at 25, to approximately 200 Montgomery County high school students during the months of February, March and April. Two additional classes were needed due to the overwhelming response. [Read more]
