Easter Bunny visits the Clarksville Community Centers
Clarksville, TN – The Easter Bunny will be making appearances at each of our three community centers this Spring. Families are welcome to stop by between 5:00pm and 6:00pm to visit with the Easter Bunny and have their photos taken.

Rivers and Spires’ Miss River Queen and Miss River Teen pageant to be held this weekend
Clarksville, TN – The search is on for this year’s Miss River Queen and River Teen. The annual pageant will be held March 24th, 2012 in Clement Auditorium on the campus of Austin Peay State University. The pageant begins at 7:00pm, and doors open at 6:30pm.
Tickets are $10.00 per person and may be purchased at the door.

Austin Peay State University plans activities as part of Disability Awareness Month throughout April 2012
Clarksville, TN – Walking to class, listening to a lecture, reading a sentence accurately or typing email are daily actions most people can do without thinking twice.
But for those who have disabilities, such activities can be a challenge. Their world is different.
That’s what the Office of Disability Services at Austin Peay State University wants people to understand. April is Disability Awareness Month, and activities are designed so that the public can see how different life with a disability is. [Read more]
Clarksville 50+ Olympics to kick off May 8th
Clarksville, TN – Adults at least 50-years-old can register now until April 30 for the 2012 Clarksville 50-Plus Olympics.
This year’s events will be held May 8th-12th at various locations around Clarksville, including The Pinnacle Bowling Center, The Swan Lake Sports Complex and Golf Course, The Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence and The Kleeman Community Center.
Competitors will face off for bragging rights, as well as medals in more than 20 challenging events, which include shuffleboard, tennis, track, golf, bowling, basketball free throw, pickle ball and indoor swimming events. [Read more]
Clarksville High School to host Regional Colorguard Competition
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville High School Wildcat Band Boosters will be hosting a regional circuit show for the Winter Guard International Southeastern Colorguard Circuit on Saturday, March 24th, 2012 in the main gym at Clarksville High, located at 151Richview Road in Clarksville, TN. You are invited to come see Sixty-five groups from a four state region competing throughout the event. The contest will begin at 9:30am and conclude at 9:00pm. Customs House Museum and Cultural Center remains open during Sidewalk Repairs
Clarksville, TN – Sidewalk repairs started March 12th at the Customs House Museum and Cultural Center. The main entrance to the Museum is closed so that repairs to the sidewalk can be completed.
The Museum wants to remind visitors that during this time, everyone must use the back entrance located in the Museum’s parking lot. Again, the Museum is not closed during this repair. The back entrance is open.
Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces Women’s Health Fair
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan announces a Women’s Health Fair will be held on March 21st, 2012 from noon to 6:00pm at the Kleeman Community Center.
“I am very excited about this event. Women’s health specialists will be there to help women make their own health a priority. Studies show that women are often reluctant to take care of themselves because they make sure their family is healthy first. But, we also know that so many diseases that women face today, like heart disease, can be addressed if it’s caught early. Hilltop Super Market to hold 17th Annual Easter Egg Hunt
Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, April 7th, Hilltop Super Market will hold their 17th Annual Easter Egg Hunt. There will be inflatables, face painting, festivities, games, prizes and fun for all ages.
Activities begin at 11:00am and the easter egg hunt will begin at 2:00pm sharp.
Aquatic Specialty Class Schedule to change temporarily at Indoor Aquatic Center
Clarksville, TN – The Aqua Belly dancing classes scheduled for Monday, March 19th and Wednesday, March 21st will not be held this week due to instructor illness. Aqua Belly dancing is held at the Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence, located at 166 Cunningham Lane. This class is expected to return to its regular schedule next week.
