Humane Society to offer the Blessing of the Animals

Clarksville, TN – The Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County will be hosting a Blessing of the Animals event on Saturday, March 31st at 11:00am at the Humane Society building. Reverend Dorothy Hartzog from Trinity Episcopal Church will be presiding & has done several of these types of events before.
Tina Hartman of Picture Your Photo will also be on hand taking Spring and/or Easter professional pet photos from 10:00am to 2:00pm for those that are interested. You may call the Humane Society of Clarksville-Montgomery County’s office at 931.648.8042 to reserve your pet’s spot with Tina Hartman, walk-ins will also be welcome.

The “Marketplace for Spays” shop will also be open where you can find great new and gently used pet items, including collars, leashes, pet shampoo, cat and dog treats, and pet-themed items such as picture frames, books, and HSCMC t-shirts.
What you should know
- Bring any animal (even goats & goldfish in a bowl have been in attendance at past Blessings)
- The blessing of deceased, ill and other animals not in attendance will be blessed by proxy (people bring photos, stuffed animals or other special items relating to the pet to be blessed)
- All pets will receive a “Certificate of Special Blessing” (if desired)
- In addition to owned pets, a special blessing will be held for foster families & rescue organizations
- Light refreshments will be served
- Free dog treats & catnip for canine & kitty attendees
