Magic at the Museum returned to the Customs House Museum on Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Magician Gary Flegal gave an amazing show that stunned the auditorium full of kids and their parents at Magic at the Museum show on Saturday. The show was sponsored by Maurice And Terri Vaughn the owners of Better Homes & Garden Real Estate Hometown Connection. In addition to amazing magic tricks, the afternoon featured face painting, “Magic” favorite Russ Nowack making balloon animals for the kids, and a free tour of the Custom House Museum.
When it was time for the show to begin, the auditorium was packed full of excited kids and their parents. A few lucky attendees were allowed to assist with some of the tricks.
City of Clarksville Revenue Collections Office extends hours and accepts local utility bill payments
Clarksville, TN – Beginning Monday, October 3rd, 2011 the City of Clarksville Finance and Revenue Department will have extended office hours of 7:30am to 5:00pm in their Revenue Collections Office in order to better serve its citizens and make it more convenient for them to pay their property taxes and utility bills.
The Revenue Collections Office is located in the first floor of the City Hall building at One Public Square. The office collects revenue for property tax, personal property tax, general billings and parking tickets. [Read more]
APSU P.E. Majors help disabled with sports, fitness skills
Clarksville, TN – Service learning in the classrooms is gaining acceptance in higher education as a way for students to help the community using the knowledge learned. One class is doing just that this semester.
For 30 minutes every Friday in the Dunn Center, students in the adaptive physical education course teach basic sports and fitness skills such as throwing and catching to clients of varying disabilities in the Progressive Directions Inc. program, which provides mental retardation services in Montgomery and Stewart counties.
APSU opening Subway restaurant on campus
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University will expand its dining options with the opening of Subway restaurant on Thursday, September 29th.
The new eatery, located in the Catherine Evans Harvill Bookstore Building, opens at 10:30am.
SPAY-Ghetti Dinner Fundraiser
Clarksville, TN – On Friday, October 7th the Clarksville Montgomery County Humane Society is holding their Spay-ghetti Dinner at the Madison Street United Methodist Church. The dinner starts at 5:00pm with the last seating at 7:30pm.
Tickets are only $10.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Kids 10 and under.
Your support will help the Humane Society get one step closer to opening their Spay-Neuter facility. Clarksville’s first ever low cost high volume spay-neuter clinic.
APSU Center of Excellence Creates YouTube Videos about Upcoming Fall Performances

Friday’s Movies in the Park Cancelled, Rescheduled for October 15th
Clarksville, TN – Due to Kenwood High School’s Homecoming game and ceremony, the City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department has cancelled Friday night’s Movie in the Park at Heritage Park, “Transformers.”
The movie has been rescheduled to Saturday, October 15th, and will conclude the department’s series of free family Movies in the Park.

Indoor Aquatic Center at New Providence opens for the season
