Slots still available for the Waggle Golf Tournament Fundraiser
Clarksville, TN – The Pi Kappa Alpha Eta Tau Alumni Association is holding their annual Waggle Golf Two Man Tournament July 16th, 2011 at 2:00pm at the Eastland Green Golf Course. The tournament benefits the Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society.
There are still eight slots remainin in this two man tournament. The Tournament has all the novelties such as: red tee shot, throws, yard of string, long drive, closest to the hole and more. Entry fee is $130.00 per team or $65.00 per person and includes meal and beverages.
There are still sponsorships available. Door prize donations are also still being accepted as well.

The June Employment Report was weaker than expected, with no bright spots. Nonfarm payrolls rose just 18,000, while the two previous months were revised a net 44,000 lower. Private-sector payrolls rose by 57,000 – a 65,000 average for May and June, following a +240,000 average for February, March, and April. Manufacturing rose by 6,000. Construction fell by 9,000. Retail added 5,200. State and local government payrolls dropped another 25,000 (following -46,000 in May) and the federal government shed 14,000 (ex-census, down 18,000, or 0.6%, from a year ago). The unemployment rate edged up to 9.2% (from 9.1% in May) and the employment/population ratio slipped to 58.2% (vs. 58.4% in May and 58.5% a year ago). Average weekly hours edged down to 34.3 (from 34.4). Average hourly earnings were essentially unchanged (up 1.9% y/y). Average weekly earnings fell 0.3% (+2.1% y/y). [Read more]

Jazz on the Lawn Tonight
Clarksville, TN – Come out tonight, July 9th, to Beachaven Winery as they continue celebrating their 24th Anniversary of ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ with Joel Brown. The music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9:30pm. It is normally a good idea to arrive early to get one of the good viewing spots on the lawn.
Admission to the concert is free along with free parking.

Best Of The Road Visits Clarksville and Fort Campbell

Clarksville, TN – Over the weekend, Tawny Clark and Chris Staudinger visited Clarksville as part of the Rally McNally – USA Today Best of the Road contest. Clarksville had the most votes for the Most Patriotic contest and earned a visit by the judges.
Tawny and Chris spent two days in town on a mission to see if Clarksville will become the Most Patriotic city. They took lots of photos and video to take back to the panel of judges who will actually make the final decision later this month. [Read more]
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area Programs for July 10th through July 16th
Clarksville, TN – Dunbar Cave State Natural Area has been a State Park since 1973. The cave and its surrounding 110 acres have considerable scenic, natural and historical significance. The entrance offered shelter to prehistoric Native Americans as far back as 10,000 years.
Dunbar Cave State Natural Area will present many nature programs this summer.
