Northeast Elementary Principal Appointment Announced
Montgomery County, TN – Gina Biter has been named principal of Northeast Elementary School for the upcoming school year.
Mrs. Biter has been with the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System since 1989 as a teacher, assistant principal and as principal of St. Bethlehem Elementary for the past three years. She also served in administrative roles at Minglewood and Norman Smith during her tenure.
Commission Sets Course for Civil War Commemorations
Montgomery County, TN – The Clarksville Montgomery County Civil War Sesquicentennial or CW150 Commission is gearing up for years of exciting events and commemoration activities in the Clarksville-Montgomery County area.
Over the next four years, there will be a variety of offerings, for young and old alike, to reflect, relive and learn about Montgomery County’s role in the Civil War.

Barnes, Pitts Announce Arts Grants
Four Montgomery County organizations receive $37,100 total
Clarksville, TN – State Senator Tim Barnes and State Representative Joe Pitts announced Friday the four Montgomery County recipients of Tennessee Arts Commission grants for the upcoming fiscal year.

APSU receives financial gift from Florim USA to award scholarships to 2 students
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University recently received a financial gift from Florim USA to be used for scholarships.
Florim USA has committed to fund annual scholarships in memory of its founder, Ing Giovanni Lucchese. The scholarships are for students majoring in marketing, computer science and chemistry.

Clarksville-Area Chamber of Commerce holds Business After Hours at Bill Roberts Thunder Road Automotive & Marine
Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, the Clarksville Area Chamber of Commerce held their June Business After Hours at Bill Roberts Thunder Road Automotive & Marine located at 997 South Riverside Drive. A large tent was setup on the centrally located grassy knoll, and McAllister’s Crossroads provided entertainment.
Networking was the name of the game as business people gathered in small groups and engaged in conversations. Free food and drinks were provided. At the same time over at Thunder Road Marine, Mrs Roberts was hosting a lovely wine and cheese reception.

Summer Youth Program Continues, Filling Up Quickly
Clarksville, TN – The City of Clarksville Parks and Recreation Department’s Summer Youth Program continues and openings at the various sites are filling up quickly!
The West Creek, Caldwell Lane, Minglewood, Barksdale, Hazelwood, St. Bethlehem, Kleeman Center, Crow Center and New Providence sites have met their registration capacities.
Clarksville Department of Electricity Opens New, Upgraded Payment and Customer Care Centers
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Department of Electricity has upgraded the location on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard to offer better and faster customer service and a safer environment for employees.
Milam Contractors spent the last few months on a construction project to upgrade our front lobby and utilize unused space. Our customers now have an entire area of the building dedicated to bill payments only. This Payment Center will alleviate long wait times for people with busy schedules and no time to waste.
