Aquatic Specialty Class Schedule to change temporarily at New Providence Pool
Clarksville, TN – The Aqua Zumba class held at New Providence Pool, located at 166 Cunningham Lane, will have a time change Friday, June 24th. The class will be at 5:00pm rather than its regularly scheduled time of 6:00pm.
The Basic Water Aerobics class normally scheduled for 6:00pm on Friday will be cancelled for the day. Both classes will return to regular times next week.

Clarksville Rallies Behind Youth
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville community accepted the challenge of assisting First Missionary Baptist Church and the LEAP Organization take youth on a trip to Washington DC. This trip provides the youth with an opportunity to journey through our past and see history in the making through an historical and relevant tour of the Capitol.
The students will be exposed to a myriad of activities such as performances at the National Theaters, the National Gallery of Art, the Smithsonian, several memorials and monuments.
Mayor’s Fitness Event to Feature Mission Clarksville Garden
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Mayor Kim McMillan will have the second of her fitness events immediately following Mission Clarksville’s Passing of the Shovel ceremony at 4:00pm. Friday at the group’s community garden on Mount Carmel Road.
At the event, the Mayor will be gardening, a great outdoor activity that gets people moving while producing rewards of fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as beautiful plants and flowers. [Read more]
Colorful musical parable of Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat comes to life at the Roxy
Clarksville, TN – Set to an engaging cornucopia of musical styles, from country-western and calypso to disco and rock ‘n’ roll, the Biblical saga of Joseph and his “coat of many colors” comes to vibrant life in Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat at the Roxy Regional Theatre, opening on Friday, June 24th, at 6:00pm.
Joseph, his father’s favorite son, is a boy blessed with prophetic dreams. When he is sold into slavery by his jealous brothers and taken to Egypt, Joseph endures a series of adventures in which his spirit and humanity are continually challenged. Movies in the Park this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Join Clarksville Parks and Recreation on Saturday, June 25th, at Heritage Park Soccer Fields for this month’s Movies in the Park event, featuring the hit animated superhero film, “Megamind,” which is rated PG.
Because of heavy rain, last Saturday’s showing of “Transformers” was cancelled and has been rescheduled for Friday, September 30th.
Clarksville Firefighters Remodel Station 6
Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Fire Rescue will have an Open House at 11:00am Thursday, June 23rd, at Station 6, located at 8 Asbury Road, just off Fort Campbell Boulevard across from Cunningham Lane.
The station has been remodeled by Fire Rescue personnel, who have also built a 900-square-foot addition that serves as a dormitory with office space and fitness equipment. Station 6 was built in 1968 for an Engine Company of one fire truck and three firefighters. [Read more]

CMCSS seeks Volunteers for Teacher’s Warehouse

Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Education Foundation is searching for volunteers to assist in the organization and execution of plans to assist with the upcoming Teacher’s Warehouse supply drive.
The Teacher’s Warehouse is a no-cost supply store for area educators to supplement their classrooms with supplies, learning aides, teaching tools and reward incentives for the benefit of students.
Teen Citizen Police Academy Applications Being Accepted
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Police Department will be hosting The Teen Citizen Police Academy, July 18th through July 22nd, 2011. The course is free and the curriculum includes crime scene investigation, narcotics investigation, K-9 unit, and much more.
The Teen Citizen Police Academy is for teens between the ages of 13-17. The times are 8:00am for Monday and 9:00am Tuesday through Friday, with pick up times no later than 2:45pm each day.
