Former Defense Secetary Donald Rumsfeld visits Fort Campbell for Book Signing
Fort Campbell, KY – Former Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld visited Fort Campbell today to promote his new book “Known and Unknown” in a book signing held at the Fort Campbell Post Exchange.
Mr. Rumsfeld has been visiting military bases nationwide to promote the sale of his book which reached the #1spot on the New York Times Best Seller List. Proceeds from the sale of the books go to charities supporting those serving in the military and their families.

Jazz on the Lawn this Saturday
Clarksville, TN – Come down to Beachaven Winery Saturday night, May 28th as they continue celebrating their 24th Anniversary of ‘Jazz on the Lawn’ with Tina Brown. The music starts at 6:30pm and goes until 9:30pm. It is normally a good idea to arrive early to get one of the good viewing spots on the lawn.
Admission to the concert is free along with free parking.
Team of Maurer-Pahmier-Haddon-Devine capture 14th Annual Ladies Golf tourney
Clarksville, TN – The team of Marcy Maurer, Paula Pahmier, Cinda Haddon and Linda Devine captured the First Flight of the 14th Annual Ladies Golf Tournament.
The quartet combined for a eight-under 64 in the four-person scramble sponsored by Austin Peay State University to raise awareness of women’s athletics. They slipped past the team of Margaret Jones, Jane Brake, Sharon Grimes and Nancy Howell, who shot a 65. The group of Betty Stanton, Jackie Jones, June Nicholson and Mary Lou Reynolds ended in third place with a six-under 66.
Comedy on the Cumberland Returns to the Roxy Regional Theatre on June 7th
Clarksville, TN – Stand up comedy returns to Clarksville, on Tuesday, June 7th at 7:00pm at the Roxy Regional Theatre, as F&M Bank presents “Comedy on the Cumberland”. APSU Public Relations office wins awards at TCPRA
Clarksville, TN – The Office of Public Relations and Marketing at Austin Peay State University won three awards during the Tennessee College Public Relations Association spring conference and awards contest held May 18th-20th at Chattanooga State Community College.
TCPRA – an alliance of communicators across the state representing public and private colleges and universities, technical schools, technology centers and community colleges – awarded gold, silver and bronze distinctions in various writing, design, publication and photography categories. Liberty Park Boat Ramp final preparations
Clarksville, TN – As opening day for the Liberty Park boat ramp and boat docks grows near, TMS Contracting employees and City employees were hard at work Thursday, May 26th with final preparations.
Around 1:00pm, TMS Contracting, launched a Crestliner pontoon boat on loan from Bill Roberts Thunder Road Marine (located at 1018 South Riverside Drive), to do some work on the Marina Basin. This makes the Crestliner the first boat launched from the Liberty Park boat ramp.
BACH observes Memorial Day

Fort Campbell, KY – In honor of the national observance of Memorial Day, Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH) personnel will observe the federal holiday Monday, May 30th, therefore all clinics and pharmacies will be closed.

APSU given StormReady sign by National Weather Service
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University was designated a StormReady University by the National Weather Service during a brief presentation held Tuesday, May 24th on the main campus.
Larry Vannozzi, meteorologist in charge with the NWS in Nashville, and Tom Johnstone, also with the NWS Nashville bureau, presented APSU Chief of Police Lantz Biles with a StormReady sign to be placed on the APSU main campus.
Clarksville Parks & Recreation facilities observe Memorial Day Holiday
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Parks & Recreation Main Office, located at 102 Public Square will be closed Monday, May 30th for the Memorial Day holiday. The Kleeman, Crow and Burt-Cobb Community Centers will also be closed Monday in observance of Memorial Day. [Read more]
