Motorcyclists donate $18,600 to Fort Campbell Fisher House

Oak Grove, KY – Members of the Some Gave All organization, sponsored by the Kentucky Association of Mortgage Professionals, held a Motorcycle charity event to benefit the Fisher House Foundation which helps wounded soldiers and their families. Riders came from all over Kentucky to donate $18,600 to the Fort Campbell Fisher House Saturday May 21st at the War Memorial Walking Trail in Oak Grove, KY.

Members of Some Gave All raised money throughout the year and originally wrote the check for $17,000 but raised another $1,600 over the last week, bringing the total to $18,600.

“We stand for recognizing Kentucky’s fallen warriors in the war on terrorism as well as their families and the price that they have paid. We hope that the the Fisher House will be able to continue their mission, helping our wounded warriors when they return from theater,” said Dwight Lewis, event organizer.

“I am impressed with this generosity for the service members and their families,” said Christi Shivler, Fort Campbell Fisher House representative. “It really means a lot that so many people came together to help the soldiers who will stay at the Fisher House.”

According to the Fort Campbell Fisher House website, they provide service members and their families a “home away from home” while they receive medical care at Blanchfield Army Community Hospital (BACH).
