Clarksville Walmart Announces Big Changes In Store
Innovative design to improve shopping experience
Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville Walmart, located on Fort Campbell Boulevard, recently began an extensive renovation. The store will receive a full remodel from the inside out and will represent the latest in Walmart’s store design and customer experience. The project is expected to be complete in May.
The new design is based on feedback from customers and will feature a clean, open and bright new look in the store with a bright interior paint scheme and lighting, and easy-to-read signage to help customers find the products they need. [Read more]

2011 Clarksville Downtown Market
Clarksville, TN – The 2011 Clarksville Downtown Market will begin in one month from tomorrow. We are very excited to get started and are looking forward to having a third great season! We will be located in the parking lot next to City Hall in Downtown Clarksville once again this season from 8:00am – 1:00pm on Saturdays.
If you have not turned in your application to be a vendor at the market we will need it as soon as possible. Contracts for accepted market vendors will be going out this week and spots will fill up fast.
APSU’s new course suggestion tool gains national spotlight in higher education
Clarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University has gained national attention in the higher education circle with the launch of its new Course Recommendation System, which helps to pair a student with courses that best fit his/her talents and program of study.
The Chronicle of Higher Education, a Washington, D.C.-based weekly publication of news and information for college and university faculty members and administrators, featured APSU’s new tool in its April 10th, 2011 issue. APSU Art Student Renyi Zhang Presents “Reinterpretations of Still-Life” Exhibit
Clarksville, TN – Studio art major and first place winner of this year’s Austin Peay State University Annual Student Art Show, Renyi Zhang (also known as Isabel Forest), is going to present her work in a new exhibit, “Reinterpretations of Still-Life,” which opens with a reception from 7:00pm to 9:00pm on April 25th, in the Trahern Student Gallery.
The show runs through April 29th, and is free and open to the public.
The Bucket Boys took stage at the Rivers and Spires Festival
Clarksville, TN – On Thursday, April 14th 2011, The Bucket Boys performed on the Public Square Stage at the Rivers and Spires Festival.
The Bucket Boys are a progressive percussion duo, combine high-energy rhythm and mediocre comedy to deliver an interactive performance of sight, sound and laughter. From witty creators Vince Romanelli and Mitch Martin, The Bucket Boys use a mobile collection of ordinary items to crash, bang, and pound out extraordinary cadences. Using trash cans, pots and pans, garbage barrels, and – of course – buckets, the duo creates hip-hop, funky dance beats.
Governors Bass Tournament just weeks away
Clarksville, TN – The 17th annual Austin Peay State University Governors Bass Tournament is just one month away.
This year’s edition will be held Saturday, May 14th, at Kentucky Lake, with registration and boat launching from Paris Landing, Tennessee, State Park. Last season’s tourney was postponed from May 8th to May 23rd, due to flood conditions that encased the area. Despite the two-week delay, the tourney still drew 269 boats.
This year, APSU again is hopeful of approaching the 300-boat total—the record of 333 was set in 2009.
Health Department Expansion
Montgomery County, TN – The landscape of Madison Street will soon be receiving a new look. The building located at 1300 Madison Street, formally housing the United Way office, will be torn down in the coming days to make way for a Health Department expansion.
The new construction has been designed specifically to compliment the architectural style of the Madison Street Corridor. [Read more]
