Legends of Clarksvegas was a stunning success for the Humane Society

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC)Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane society rallied their supporters this weekend for two gala evenings of entertainment which raised nearly $20,000 to help support their vital mission in our community.

Dubbed Legends of Clarksvegas, the benefit concert featured Cheryl Crenshaw and Donita Crenshaw as the Judds, Kenny James as Buddy Holly, Steve Bobbitt as Rod Stewart, and Freddy Baggett as Elvis Presley. They were backed up by the EAS Showband.

Humane Society of Clarksville – Montgomery County (HSCMC) Clarksville, TN – The Clarksville-Montgomery County Humane Society’s fundraiser, “Legends of Clarksvegas” was held March 26th and 27th, at 7:00pm.

The Legends of Clarksvegas featured some of the best professional impersonators in the business; Kenny James as “Buddy Holly”, Freddy B as “Elvis Presley, Cheryl Crenshaw and Donita Crenshaw as “The Judds”, and Steve Bobbitt as “Rod Stewart” along with special guests, the EAS Showband, the official tribute band for Graceland.

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville’s new hot spot opened it’s doors on Friday night inside the Two Rivers Center. As many business owners are bouncing back from the Great Flood of 2010, others are taking advantage of space that has come available.

Noted Native American Scholar and Filmmaker to Speak at APSU Asanbe Symposium

Austin Peay State UniversityClarksville, TN – Austin Peay State University’s annual Asanbe Diversity Symposium, slated for next month, will feature Native American educator, writer, filmmaker and producer Dr. Patty Loew.

At 1:00pm on Friday, April 1st, Loew will lecture in the Honors Commons on “Creation to Contemporary Conflict: Native American Origin Stories as Predictors of Modern Environmental Struggles.” At 3:00pm in the same room, there will be a showing of her documentary film, “Way of the Warrior,” followed by a 4:00pm discussion of the film. The Rivers and Spires FestivalClarksville, TN – Giselle Fontenot has been named Miss River Queen 2011, while Sarah Gross will reign as the new Miss River Teen. The new title holders were crowned at the pageant held Saturday, March 26th, at Austin Peay State University’s Clement Auditorium.

The new queen and teen were crowned by the 2010 Miss River Queen Kyndal Hayes and Miss River Teen Katie Kennedy.

Magic at the Museum

Magic at the Museum Clarksville, TN – On Saturday, March 26th 2011, at 2:00pm, the first Magic at the Museum as held at the Customs House Museum. There was face painting and balloon animals created by Roger Patton. Later, Russ Nowack of Hocus Pocus Entertainment performed a magic show.

Magic at the MuseumClarksville, TN – On Saturday, March 26th at 2:00pm, Bonehead Promotions held their first Magic at the Museum magic show at the Customs House Museum. The show featured the extremely talented Russ Nowack of Hocus Pocus Entertainment.

Other activities included a balloon animals created by Roger Patton Magician and Balloon Artist, and face painting.
