Christmas on the Cumberland – Part 3
The McGregor Park Riverwalk once again comes alive with the Christmas spirit for the 11th annual Christmas on the Cumberland. Christmas on the Cumberland has been named a Top 20 Event by the Southeast Tourism Society for the 2nd consecutive year. This year’s Christmas on the Cumberland theme is “The 12 Days of Christmas”. Come experience over 1 million twinkling lights, beautiful Christmas trees, visits from Santa and several other sights and sounds of the Christmas season right here in Clarksville. The lighting of the 11th annual Christmas on the Cumberland was November 24 at 6:30 pm. The display will be open Sunday through Thursday, 5-10 pm and Friday through Saturday, 5-11 pm November 24 through January 1, 2010.

The Roxy Regional Theatre is currently staging the Tennessee Williams play “A Streetcar Named Desire.”
To fully understand the intricacies of this masterpiece play, in this writers opinion you just have to come from the south. Otherwise it is all too easy to miss the subtle interplay of these delicious personalities as they intertwine in a tapestry that is as old as, well the south.
You have Blanche DuBois the socialite (Alicia Kelly); the submissive wife Stella (Chase Kamata); Stanley the abuser (Justin Barnum); the dotting son Harold (Brenden Cataldo); among others. The acting was tight, performers seamlessly melding into their roles as if they had been born to them.
