Last Chance to See Current Exhibits at the Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – The Customs House museum will be changing out its spaces at the end of the month, leaving less than two weeks for art lovers to view the current exhibits by award-winning artists.
The museum offers an average of thirty temporary shows each year, and the current ones features a variety of styles and subject matter.
Chicago Artist Sergio Gomez Exhibits at the Customs House Museum

Clarksville, TN – Chicago-based artist Sergio Gomez brings his bold figurative works to the Customs House Museum with the exhibit The Land In Between.
Exhibited in the two-story Crouch Gallery, the moody, ghost-like forms that anchor Gomez’s large paintings appear restless and calm at the same time, amid dripping colors and spackled landscapes.
APSU Department of Art presents lecture from internationally recognized artist Ann Hamilton

Clarksville, TN – The Austin Peay State University Department of Art is proud to welcome Ann Hamilton, an internationally recognized visual artist known for large-scale multimedia installations.
As a part of the Department’s visiting artist series, Hamilton will present a lecture on February 5th at 7:00pm in APSU’s Trahern Theatre.

Clarksville, TN – On a Saturday evening last December, a thin layer of snow covered downtown Clarksville. An icy, winter wind rattled the decorations hanging from streetlights, and most of the sidewalks were empty because it was too cold to go outside.
One of the only signs of life on that quiet night came from the center of the Austin Peay State University campus, where hundreds of people hurried into the Morgan University Center for the Department of Music’s Annual Holiday Dinner.
