Two Austin Peay State University Alumni to be inducted into Phi Kappa Phi Hall of Fame

Clarksville, TN – Two Austin Peay State University alumni, one of whom is a congressman, will be inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Chapter 191 Academic Hall of Fame.
In addition, the chapter will initiate 116 students and six faculty as new members during the ceremony at 6:30pm, Wednesday, April 10th in Clement Auditorium. [Read more]
Clarksville Artist Lynne Griffey’s work selected for cover of 2012 South Atlantic Regional School of Christian Mission

Clarksville, TN – Lynne Griffey, a member of St. Bethlehem United Methodist Church, had her art selected for a cover design for the 2012 South Atlantic Regional School of Christian Mission. Griffey’s work was selected from entries from the entire Southeast Conference region.
The 2012 theme for the mission is “That All Might Have Life”. For inspiration Griffey selected John 10:10, where Jesus proclaims “I have come that they might have life and have it abundantly.” Griffey interprets this scripture for her art. [Read more]
Austin Peay State University to host reading by Award Winning Poet Marilyn Kallet April 2nd

Clarksville, TN – A few years ago, an interviewer asked the acclaimed poet and translator Marilyn Kallet where she found inspiration. Her answer hinted at the stunningly complex and expansive nature of her work.
“Anywhere and everywhere,” she said of her inspiration. “I’ve written lots of love poems and poems about family history, but also about race and history, about the Holocaust and my family.” [Read more]

Clarksville, TN – Clarksville Academy, a Pre-K through 12th grade private college preparatory school, is pleased to announce the signing of Blake Rowlett to Faulkner University in Montgomery, AL. Blake has played baseball at CA for the past 4 years.
Head of Schools Kay Drew, “I am always proud to see our students set goals for themselves and work to achieve them. We couldn’t be more proud of Blake and his success.” Blake has had many accomplishments on the field, including being a starting short stop on the varsity team for four years.
