Clarksville’s Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery event raises $3,000 for Susan G. Komen Foundation

Clarksville, TN – Tilted Kilt Pub and Eatery, with support from the Nashville and Clarksville Chive Chapters, recently held a fundraiser resulting in a $3,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
The “Nashville Chive Unofficial Meetup, Part Duex”, presented by Budweiser of Clarksville, was held at Tilted Kilt on September 27th and included a silent auction, limited edition tshirt sales, drink and menu specials and more with proceeds going to Susan G. Komen.

Farm Credit Mid-America presents APSU Department of Agriculture with $50,000 donation

Clarksville, TN – When Farm Credit Mid-America set out to invest in the next generation of American farmers, the Kentucky-based lender looked south to Austin Peay State University.
That’s because APSU is home to the fastest growing college department of agriculture in Tennessee, with student enrollment in that program increasing by 75 percent in the last five years.
Montgomery County Safehouse Receives Donation of Winter Clothes

Montgomery County, TN – Safehouse director, Christy Bussell, accepts a generous donation of women and children winter clothing from Clarksville City Councilwoman Kaye Jones.
Safehouse is the local shelter for women and children needing safe refuge.
To support the mission of the Safehouse, the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office collects and recycles cell phones with all proceeds going to Safehouse.

Sunrise Rotary Club gives $1,000 donation to Montgomery County Imagination Library

Clarksville, TN – The Sunrise Rotary Club has given a $1,000 donation to the Imagination Library of Montgomery County in support of this important early literacy program.
Sunrise Rotary has been a staunch supporter of Imagination Library since its inception in Montgomery County in 2006 and has given well over $30,000 to IL through the years.
Montgomery County food drive for Manna Café

Montgomery County – Montgomery County Government recently held a food drive to benefit Manna Café. During the month long drive, over 2,600 pounds of food was collected, as well as a $500.00 cash donation.

Clarksville Roller Derby’s Red River Sirens are hosting their 2nd annual Scaryokie Karaoke fundraiser on Saturday, November 17th at Scooters Pub and Grill, 2458 Highway 41A Bypass, Clarksville. Doors open at 7:00pm, Karaoke begins at 8:00pm, and a $5.00 minimum donation is requested.

APSU hosts 18th annual Bread and Words reading on November 20th

Clarksville, TN – Every November, on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, the Austin Peay State University Department of Languages and Literature hosts a benefit reading that not only celebrates the written word, but also raises public awareness of hunger in the local community.
