Clarksville, TN – The survivors were ushered into a large room where they sat in groups, trying to figure out what just happened. One young woman simply cried, unable to control herself.
When family members arrived, the lack of information led to shouting matches, and a group of counseling graduate students, trying to offer help, quickly found themselves overwhelmed.

TBR vice chair Emily Reynolds to speak at APSU commencement on May 5th

Clarksville, TN – Vice chair of the Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) Emily Reynolds will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s 88th Spring Commencement on May 5th in the University’s Dunn Center.
Reynolds has had an extensive career in public service and politics, having served under two U.S. senators from Tennessee—Senator Howard Baker and Senator Bill Frist. Both men also served as majority leader of the U.S. Senate.

Clarksville, TN – On a warm, May afternoon in 2012, Australian tennis star Samuel Groth stunned spectators at the Busan Open when he delivered a 163 mph serve—the fastest serve in the history of that sport.
A grainy YouTube video from that day shows Groth’s opponent, Belarusian Uladzimir Ignatik, flailing in his unsuccessful attempt to connect with the ball.
Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel James R. Salome to speak at APSU’s Summer Commencement

Clarksville, TN – Fort Campbell Garrison Commander Colonel James R. Salome will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s 88th Summer Commencement on August 5th.
Salome took command of Fort Campbell on June 18th, 2015, after arriving from Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served as the Commander’s Initiatives Group director, U.S. Army Forces Command. Salome previously served with 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, as an operations officer.
Philanthropist Ayers to speak at Austin Peay State University commencement on May 6th

Clarksville, TN – Janet Ayers, a nationally recognized business leader and president of the philanthropic Ayers Foundation, will deliver the keynote address at Austin Peay State University’s 87th Spring Commencement on May 6th.
The Ayers Foundation was created in 1999 to sustain and/or significantly improve the quality of life in Tennessee. The organization accomplishes this mission through financial support for college scholarships, medical services for children, research into pre-cancer detection and diagnosis, continuing education for teachers, mental health research and other initiatives.
APSU Winter Commencement Ceremonies set for December 11th

Clarksville, TN – As a teenager, Lynn Von Hagen dreamed of working as a biologist in Africa. She raised money for conservation groups, like the World Wildlife Fund, and she often found herself staring at photographs of lions and elephants in the pages of National Geographic.
In the early 1990s, Hagen decided to enroll at Vol State Community College, but after earning her associate degree in 1993, she put her dream of becoming abiologist on hold.
