\"TheClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is located in historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. Come explore an entire city block featuring large gallery spaces filled with fine art, science and history.<\/p>\n

In the month of January, the Museum will feature Richard LeFevre: The Civil War Series, Assemblages: The Art of Sandra Paynter Washburn, “Snowflake Special” Model Trains, Let\u2019s Find Fish, Sunday Family Fun – \u201cBuild a Log House\u201d and so much more.<\/p>\n

Exhibits<\/h3>\n

Richard LeFevre: The Civil War Series<\/h4>\n

LeFevre\u2019s paintings from the collection of UT Knoxville document the important battles of the Civil War, including those at Gettysburg, Chattanooga, Vicksburg, Shiloh, Chickamauga, and Knoxville. On exhibit through March.<\/p>\n

Bold Expressions: Paintings by Larry Martin<\/h4>\n

Clarksville artist Larry Martin creates bold, richly colored paintings. On exhibit through March 4th.<\/p>\n

Assemblages: The Art of Sandra Paynter Washburn<\/h4>\n

This exhibit features mixed media paintings, sculptural pieces and jewelry by nationally known artist Sandra Paynter Washburn. On exhibit through March 11th.<\/p>\n

The Wooden Plane: From the Collection of Terry Strange<\/h4>\n

See antique tools dating back to the late 1700’s. On exhibit through February 26th.<\/p>\n

A-B-C : From the Museum Collection<\/h4>\n

Various objects from our collection represent the letters of the alphabet. On exhibit through April 1st.<\/p>\n

Activities<\/h3>\n

“Snowflake Special” Model Trains<\/h4>\n

The \u201cSnowflake Special\u201d trains will be running every Sunday from 1:00pm\u20134:00pm through February.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet\u2019s Find Fish\u201d<\/h4>\n

February 15th & 16th, 10:30am\u201311:30am<\/strong>
\nChildren 3 \u2013 5 years old and their grown-ups are invited to explore the museum from a child\u2019s perspective. We will look for fish and the places they live, make a craft, and hear a story. This activity is free to museum members. Non-members pay the regular adult admission of $7.00, plus $2.00 per child. Siblings are always welcome.<\/p>\n

Sunday Family Fun – \u201cBuild a Log House\u201d<\/h4>\n

February 26th, 1:00pm\u20135:00pm<\/strong>
\nAbraham Lincoln was born in a one-room log cabin on February 12th, 1809. Visit the museum today and build your own log house out of craft sticks. This activity is free with paid admission or your museum membership.<\/p>\n

Art & Lunch Film: The Diary of a Confederate Soldier (Vol. I)<\/h4>\n

Thursday, February 9th, 12:05pm in the Turner Auditorium<\/strong>
\nThis film from the American Heritage series presents a Confederate soldier’s experiences during the Civil War. Free Admission. Bagged lunches welcome. In conjunction with the exhibit Richard LeFevre: The Civil War Series.<\/p>\n

The museum will be closed February 16th for Martin Luther King Day.<\/p>\n
