The market will feature fresh, locally grown produce, nursery stock, handmade craft items, and other seasonal commodities. Pool passes are on sale now and can be purchased at the Parks &amp; Recreation office or any of our three community centers. New this year is outside food and drinks are no longer prohibited.<\/p>\n<p>Limited concessions will still be available onsite. Keep in mind, glass bottles and containers are not allowed.<\/p>\n<h3>Movies in the Park<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/IMG_1316.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-thumbnail wp-image-40340 alignleft\" title=\"Families waiting to see Startrek at Movies in the on Park Saturday evening\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/07\/IMG_1316-200x133.jpg\" alt=\"Families waiting to see Startrek at Movies in the on Park Saturday evening\" width=\"200\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This year the City of Clarksville\u2019s Parks and Recreation Department has decided to bring even more stars to Heritage Park, instead of eight viewings, we will now offer 16 movies for the 2011 season! This season, look for the \u201cTwilight\u201d double feature and be sure to visit the Movies in the Park Facebook page to vote on the \u201cPeople\u2019s Choice movie to be shown in October.<\/p>\n<p>Join us for the kick off of Movies in the Park on Saturday, May 28th, at Heritage Park soccer fields for the viewing of \u201cAvatar.\u201d Come early to save your spot and enjoy pre-show activities beginning an hour before the movie starts at dusk. Be sure to bring your picnic blankets and lawn chairs. Concessions also will be available. Admission to the movie is free. For a full schedule, visit <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.parksafterdark.com\/\" >www.parksafterdark.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3>National Trails Day<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/greenwayLogo.png\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-47093\" title=\"Clarksville Greenway\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/greenwayLogo.png\" alt=\"Clarksville Greenway\" width=\"137\" height=\"148\" \/><\/a>On Saturday, June 4th from 8:00am to 11:00am, members of the Tennessee Trails Association along with other volunteers will be celebrating the 19th anniversary of National Trails Day by working to improve the City of Clarksville\u2019s Greenway. The Clarksville Greenway is located at 1101 Pollard Road.<\/p>\n<p>National Trails Day, organized by the American Hiking Society, is celebrated across the country as a way to inspire the public to discover and learn about our nation\u2019s trail system. Those interested in volunteering can contact Melissa Adkins at 931-645-7476.<\/p>\n<h3>Youth League Opening Ceremony<\/h3>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-31325\" title=\"T-Ball\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/01\/t-ball-195x200.jpg\" alt=\"T-Ball\" width=\"117\" height=\"120\" \/>Our youth recreation leagues will kick off the season with an opening ceremony at 10:00am June 4th at Heritage Park. The ceremony will feature 10-year-old Miracle Powell singing the National Anthem and the Clarksville Police Department Color Guard, presenting the colors.<\/p>\n<p>All teams should wear their uniforms. Individual and team pictures will be taken.<\/p>\n<h3>Summer Youth Program Begins June 6th<\/h3>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/IMG_8285.JPG\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-thumbnail wp-image-22051\" title=\"A young man colors while participating in the City of Clarksville's Summer youth program\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/IMG_8285-200x133.jpg\" alt=\"A young man colors while participating in the City of Clarksville's Summer youth program\" width=\"200\" height=\"133\" \/><\/a>Every summer, school gymnasiums are modified to a \u201cCommunity Center\u201d atmosphere from 9:00am to 3:00pm, Monday- Friday, with table games, tournaments, arts and crafts, and special activities. All children ages 6-12 are welcome to attend Explorer sites for FREE.<\/p>\n<p>New this year will be a teens-only site at New Providence Middle School for age 13-16 called the Rec-ing Crew.
