Millions will answer the call to prayer on May 5th in observance of the 60th annual National Day of Prayer. Organized events will be held in thousands of public venues where intercession will be made for America and its leadership.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s theme, \u201cA Mighty Fortress Is Our God,\u201d is based on Psalm 91:2: \u201cI will say of the Lord, He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.\u201d National Day of Prayer Task Force (NDPTF) Chairman Shirley Dobson, wife of Focus on the Family founder Dr. James Dobson, said, \u201cAt this perilous and uncertain juncture in our country\u2019s history, it is critical that we remain in prayer. The American people continue to be plagued with challenges that defy simple answers, and our hope lies in humbly seeking the Almighty\u2019s guidance, protection, and blessing \u2013 not only on the National Day of Prayer, but throughout the year.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The local National Day of Prayer is sponsored by the Clarksville Area Ministerial Association. On May the 5th there will be two gatherings for prayer at the Civic Hall, located at Veterans\u2019 Plaza on Pageant Lane. The first gathering will be from 12:00noon until 1:00pm and will feature some special music and various pastors leading prayer for local officials, schools, businesses, families and churches. The second gathering will be from 6:30pm &#8211; 8:00pm.
