Refreshments will be served.<\/p>\n<p>A native of Adams and alumnus of APSU, Alford studied at the Juilliard School for Drama in New York City. He founded the Mockingbird Theatre in Nashville in 1994 and served as its acting director until 2004.<!--more-->From 2004-07 he was executive artistic director of Tennessee Repertory Theatre in Nashville and served as its first artist-in-residence until 2008. Alford has appeared in more than 50 professional theater productions. Screen credits include \u201cThe Last Castle\u201d and Masterpiece Theatre\u2019s production of \u201cA Death in the Family,\u201d which will be the subject of his lecture.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, Alford has written and produced \u201cSpirit: The Authentic Story of the Bell Witch of Tennessee\u201d and \u201cSmoke,\u201d a musical concerning the tobacco wars in northern middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky.
