This extensive multi-media exhibition is a mixture of new pieces and familiar favorites, including a new collection of cloud paintings and several whimsical sculptures<\/p>\n<p><strong>John Guider: Journeys<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>November 9th \u2013 January 30th |<\/em><em> Orgain &amp; Bruner Galleries<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In 1779, John Donelson set out on a river journey that would lead to the founding of Nashville. John Guider followed 240 years later, capturing contemporary images of Tennessee\u2019s waters in a boat of his own making. His photos show us where we come from, and where we might be going.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Customs House Christmas Village <\/strong><br \/>\n<em>November 16th \u2013 January 1st | <\/em><em>Lobby <\/em><\/p>\n<p>This large collection of porcelain pieces was assembled by Jimmy and Sue Drye of Clarksville and donated to the Museum by their children in their honor. A model train makes its way through the lights and moving parts of the village.<\/p>\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><strong>Interactions: Paintings by Judy Lavoie<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Through January 2nd | Jostens Gallery<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A wide variety of themes inspire Judy Lavoie to paint. Interesting textures inspire her, as do delicate colorful flowers and brightly lit landscapes. <em>\u201cBy exaggerating colors, or sometimes altering them from reality, I aim to preserve a moment in time, recreating the subject in my own way.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[470center]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Esperanza: A Celebration of Hispanic Heritage and Hope<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Through November 7th | Lobby<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Hispanic Heritage Month begins on Sept. 15 and pays tribute to the history and culture of the Hispanic and Latin American communities. This year\u2019s national theme is \u201cBe Proud of Your Past, Embrace the Future.\u201d This exhibit features a variety of Hispanic and Latin American cultural objects, clothing, and traditions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Anne K. Beyer: Still <\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Through November 28th | Harvill Gallery<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Anne Beyer\u2019s work is inspired by the relationship between the natural world and the human psyche. In this exhibit, she explores the relationship between handcrafted wood-fired ceramic forms and digitally designed 3D-printed objects.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Start Your Engines! A Celebration of Racing in Montgomery County<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>Through December 31st | Kimbrough, Hand &amp; Memory Lane<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Sponsored by Tri-Star Beverage and MPG Transport<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Museum expands its <em>Challenge &amp; Champions<\/em> exhibit with this multi-gallery exhibition showcasing Montgomery County\u2019s auto racing history and the local legends that formed the sport. <em>Start Your Engines!<\/em> highlights race cars, art, historical memorabilia and video footage of personal stories from locals who established auto racing in the area.<\/p>\n<p>[470center]<\/p>\n<h3>Museum Events<\/h3>\n<p><strong>First Thursday Art Walk<\/strong><br \/>\n<em>November 4th, 5:00pm\u20138:00pm<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Museum will have free admission during First Thursday Art Walk Clarksville from 5:00pm\u20138:00pm. Use a bone diagram to identify the animals you find; discover skulls, leg bones, and more! No other discounts apply.<\/p>\n<h3>Museum Closures<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Explorers Landing<br \/>\n<\/strong><em>Closing November 1st<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Explorers Landing will close November 1st for renovations. It will reopen January 2022. Kid\u2019s play items will be available in the Coca-Cola Caf\u00e9 while Explorers Landing is closed.
