Opening in mid-January is the highly-anticipated reveal of award-winning realist painter Juliette Aristides\u2019 <em>A Life\u2019s Work<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>In 2020, the Seattle-based painter focused on the quiet moments of her life. <em>A Life\u2019s Work <\/em>is a collection of those moments of light and shadows that filled her studio and home.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_511501\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Deal-McEver.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-511501\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-511501\" title=\"Audry Deal-McEver: Botanical Extravagance\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Deal-McEver-480x309.jpg\" alt=\"Audry Deal-McEver: Botanical Extravagance\" width=\"480\" height=\"309\"\/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-511501\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Audry Deal-McEver: Botanical Extravagance<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The 29 oil works include still life and interior scenes as well as six captivating figurative paintings. \u201cAristides captures the light so effortlessly that each piece draws you in and almost freezes time,\u201d praises Curator of Exhibits Terri Jordan.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou feel the warmth and peace wash over you with each brushstroke.\u201d <em>A Life\u2019s Work <\/em>is displayed in the Orgain and Bruner Galleries through March 31st. The Museum plans to host a workshop with the artist in late March. The exhibit is sponsored in part by Jacqueline &amp; Ned Crouch.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Museum has several exhibits opening in conjunction with Black History Month. The Museum\u2019s Lobby is featuring an exhibit on the life of famed composer and violinist Clarence Cameron White.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_511504\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Juliette-Aristides.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-511504\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-511504\" title=\"Juliette Aristides\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Juliette-Aristides-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"Juliette Aristides\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"\/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-511504\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Juliette Aristides<\/p><\/div>\n<p>White was one of America\u2019s most prominent Black concert violinists of the first half of the twentieth century. He was born in Clarksville in 1879. The exhibit contains some of White\u2019s personal items from the Museum collection and is on display through March 7th.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mango: New Work by Symphony Medley <\/em>is on display in the Harvill Gallery through February 28th. Medley is a recent graduate of Austin Peay State University. Her pieces represent expressive paint strokes and engaging color schemes that add flavor to her thought-provoking compositions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[470center]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in honor of Black History Month, the Museum focuses on Wilma Rudolph, one of Clarksville\u2019s most beloved heroes. Located in the Challenges &amp; Champions exhibit, Rudolph\u2019s local story includes themes such as overcoming adversity, fulfilling dreams, and social justice.<\/p>\n<p>Other inspiring exhibits to note opening this month include <em>Robert McCurley\u2019s Due South<\/em> in the Kimbrough Gallery through April 25th. Incorporating a number of architectural styles, the original structure is one of the most photographed buildings in the region.<\/p>\n<p>With over 35,000 square feet of the region\u2019s best hands-on activities and special events\u2026people of all ages agree \u2013 the Customs House Museum is well worth the stop!<\/p>\n<p>The Explorer\u2019s Gallery is packed with fun, learning, and fantasy in Aunt Alice\u2019s Attic, McGregor\u2019s Market and kitchen, and of course \u2013 the Bubble Cave! Finally, get \u201call aboard\u201d to see our fantastic model trains. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
