Upcoming events include: Blowgun Workshop, Cave Formations, Bats, Area Geology, History Tour and so much more!<\/p>\n<h2>Program Schedule<\/h2>\n<h3>Sunday, June 20th<\/h3>\n<p><strong>BLOWGUN WORKSHOP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 1:00pm &#8211; 2:00pm.<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 7-Adult<\/p>\n<p>Native Americans utilized Dunbar Cave and the surrounding area for over 12,000 years! One common hunting tool they used was the blowgun. Test your blowgun skills with this fun and educational workshop. Meet at the Cave.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Michael Fulbright, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> 4:30pm June 19th. <!--more--><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>CAVE FORMATIONS<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 3:00pm &#8211; 4:00pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 3-12<\/p>\n<p>Although we can\u2019t go into the cave this year, that doesn\u2019t mean we can\u2019t learn about the cave\u2019s formations. We will also try and replicate these cool calcite shapes with play-dough.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Michael Fulbright, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> 4:30pm June 19th.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>DISCUSSION ON SWAN LAKE <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time: <\/strong>6:30pm &#8211; 7:30pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages: <\/strong>6-adult<\/p>\n<p>Come learn how the lake of Dunbar Cave was created and how it has changed throughout the years.<br \/>\nBe prepared to walk about 2\/3 of a mile.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Adam Neblett, Park Ranger<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> Noon June 20th.<\/p>\n<h3>Monday, June 21st<\/h3>\n<p><strong>EYES OF THE NIGHT<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 8:00pm \u2013 9:30pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 5 \u2013 adult<\/p>\n<p>Bring a flashlight and we will hike around the lake hoping to catch the eyes of our nocturnal animals.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Amy Wallace, Interpretive Specialist<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> Noon June 21st.<\/p>\n<h3>Tuesday, June 22nd<\/h3>\n<p><strong>HOPPERS AND CROAKERS <\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time: <\/strong>9:00am &#8211; 10:30am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 3-12<\/p>\n<p>Sit in for a quick slideshow of all the wonderful amphibians that inhabit Swan Lake, and later take a short hike (easy) to see if we can spot some in the water or on the bank. Bring shoes you can get wet, water and sunscreen.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Andy Riggs, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> 4:30pm June 20th.<\/p>\n<h3>Wednesday, June 23rd<\/h3>\n<p><strong>ANIMAL DETECTIVES<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 9:00am &#8211; 11:00am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 5 \u2013 12<\/p>\n<p>Learn about the clues and signs that animals leave behind in this indoor and outdoor program. Wear sunscreen and bring water.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Amy Wallace, Interpretive Specialist<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> 4:30pm June 21st.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>STREAM STOMP<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 10:00am &#8211; 11:30am<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 5-13<\/p>\n<p>Streams are amazing habitats for lots of different types of life. Join Dunbar Cave Staff for a walk through the stream at Rotary Park (get directions when you sign up) to see what we can find. Make sure to bring shoes and clothes you don\u2019t mind getting wet. Meet at Rotary Park \u2013 look for park vehicle next to stream and a sign.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Program Leader:<\/strong> Michael Fulbright, Seasonal Interpretive Ranger<br \/>\n<strong>Reservations by:<\/strong> 4:30pm June 21st.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>BATS TAKE FLIGHT<\/strong><br \/>\n<strong>Time:<\/strong> 7:30pm &#8211; 8:30pm<br \/>\n<strong>Ages:<\/strong> 5-Adult<\/p>\n<p>Meet at the cool mouth of the cave to witness a true miracle of nature as our bats emerge from their sleep to get a bite to eat. Learn more about White \u2013Nose syndrome and how it\u2019s affecting our bats here in Tennessee. Join a member of our staff for a walk around the park stopping at some of the historic places and try to imagine what it looked like years ago. Bring your imagination and an old shirt. Well, wonder know more; because we are going into the dark for a long hike (medium) to spot and identify the things that go bump in the night!
