\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – On March 3rd-5th 2020, Austin Peay State University and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will present the annual APSU GuitarFest, featuring guest artist concerts, lectures and workshops.<\/p>\n

Classical guitarist Ana Vidovic<\/p><\/div>\n

At 7:30pm on Tuesday March 3rd, internationally renowned classical guitarist Ana Vidovic will perform a Clarksville Community Concert Association Concert in the Austin Peay State University Mabry Concert Hall. A pre-concert talk will take place at 6:30pm. Ticket prices, along with special rates, are available at www.clarksvillemusic.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vidovic, a native of Croatia, started playing guitar at the age of 5, and she was performing internationally by age 11.<\/p>\n

At 13, she became the youngest student to attend the prestigious National Musical Academy in Zagreb, and her reputation in Europe led to an invitation to study with Manuel Barrueco at the Peabody Conservatory, where she graduated in 2005.<\/p>\n

According to the Baltimore Sun, Vidovic \u201chas a finely honed technique and a remarkable stylistic sensitivity that allows her to communicate eloquently.\u201d<\/p>\n

She will teach a masterclass at 10:00am on March 4th.<\/p>\n

At 2:00pm that day, award-winning guitarist Deiter Hennings will lead a masterclass, followed by a free concert at 7:30pm in the Mabry Concert Hall. Hennings is an associate professor of music at the University Kentucky and winner of the 2008 Aaron Brock International Guitar Competition (Toronto), 2005 Eastman Guitar Concerto Competition, the 2002 Villa de Petrer, Alicante (Spain) International Young Artists Competition and the 2001 Portland International Guitar Competition.<\/p>\n

At 10:00am on March 5th, Nashville-native Richard Todd will present a masterclass, followed by a free concert at 7:30pm in the Mabry Concert Hall. Soundboard Magazine described Todd\u2019s playing as \u201csubtly brilliant,\u201d displaying \u201crich tone, effortless phrasing and a masterful use of silence,\u201d and The Fort Worth Star-Telegram noted his \u201cconsiderable energy and impressive virtuosity.\u201d<\/p>\n
