\"ClarksvilleClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Do you dream of being a Hollywood director? Do you have a talent for cinematography? Clarksville Parks and Recreation is looking for you and your team to compete in the Clarksville Film Festival, sponsored by CDE Lightband.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe know Clarksville has some amazing artists and we\u2019re really hoping to see their talents,\u201d said Maggie Houts, Event Planning Specialist for Clarksville Parks and Recreation. \u201cIt doesn\u2019t matter if you have the best gear or just your phone. We are looking for filmmakers who can create a captivating story in 52 hours or less.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participants in the event must be at least 14. Team registration is $20.00 and is open through February 20th.<\/p>\n

Registration is free for high school students but limited to the first 5 groups, and they may email parksrec@cityofclarksville.com<\/a> for a coupon code.<\/p>\n

All registered teams will attend a mandatory meeting at 6:00pm on February 21st at Freedom Point. After the meeting, the 52-hour contest begins.<\/p>\n

The public screening of all the films will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm Saturday, March 28th at the Roxy Regional Theatre. The screening event is open to all ages, with $7.00 per person admission paid at the door. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top filmmakers at the screening.<\/p>\n

Houts said the film festival is for anyone who has an interest in filmmaking.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a great opportunity to have fun, have your film shown in a theater, and possibly win some money. We can\u2019t wait to see what everyone comes up with!\u201d Houts said.<\/p>\n
