\"ClarksvilleClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Clarksville’s 60th annual Christmas parade, hosted by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government, took place Saturday, December 7th, 2019 delighting thousands as it worked its way from the APSU campus through the streets of downtown.<\/p>\n

Leading this year’s parade, which featured about 180 entries, was the family of the late Mike Robinson. His wife Rhonda, and children Bryce, Bayleigh and Carly, were this year\u2019s grand marshals. A beloved local music legend and family man, Mike Robinson lost his long battle with cancer in August of 2019.<\/p>\n

Clarksville held its 60th annual Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 7th, 2019.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

“Part of Mike\u2019s legacy will always be how much he meant to this city and how much it meant to him. We continue to be overwhelmed and grateful for the support that our community has shown over the last two years, and especially the last couple of months,\u201d Rhonda Robinson said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur family is honored to have been asked to participate in this year\u2019s parade. God molded Mike and used him in such an amazing way to show others that there is always hope. During this season of hope, the kids and I want to be able to continue his mission of spreading hope to others just as he did.”<\/p>\n

People were lined up all along the parade route. It took about 15 minutes for the first entries to make their way to Public Square where emcee Lee Erwin announced each participant as well as the judges choices for this year’s best floats. It took about two hours for the last entries to make their way back to the Austin Peay State University Campus.<\/p>\n

This year’s entries included local businesses, schools, and organizations who showcased their Christmas spirit in many ways. Hundreds of participants either walked, rode a float, or drove a vehicle that was decorated to show their holiday cheer. This year’s theme was “Christmas through the Ages\u201d and participants did an amazing job of bringing their ideas to life through music, costumes and decorations.<\/p>\n

Many entities, including church, civic groups, and city\/county offices — submitted a $20 gift card. The gift cards will be presented to Survivor Outreach Services (SOS), which provides services and helps families who have lost a loved one as a result of their military service. In Clarksville-Montgomery County alone, there are more than 500 such families.<\/p>\n

Awards were presented to first through third place winners in each division. Divisions include Civic\/Church; Business\/Commercial; and City\/County. Winners were announced as they passed the judge\u2019s stand on Public Square.<\/p>\n

The 60th Annual Christmas Parade was presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government and sponsored by Clarksville Living Magazine.<\/p>\n
