The whole family will enjoy this special kid-friendly event featuring award-winning children\u2019s author Anna Celenza.<\/p>\n

\"Gateway<\/a><\/p>\n

The performance features Pyotr Tchaikovsky\u2019s Nutcracker Suite, as well as Duke Ellington\u2019s jazz-influenced reinvention.<\/p>\n

The music will be accompanied by a multi-media experience with a special reading by Celenza of her book Duke Ellington\u2019s Nutcracker Suite, featuring amazing illustrations by Don Tate. Join the GCO for children\u2019s pre-concert activities, including an instrument \u201cpetting zoo,\u201d starting one hour before the concert.<\/p>\n

This season, titled \u2018Emotion Abounds,\u2019 presents a slate of powerful and emotional programs featuring favorite composers of the GCO, including Mozart, Schubert, Schoenburg, and, of course, Haydn, who will be celebrated in the annual \u2018America\u2019s Haydn Festival\u2019 on April 5th, 2020. The season also offers a number of special events, including the holiday favorite \u2018Winter Baroque\u2019 and the 2nd annual \u2018BBQ, Brews & Beethoven\u2019 featuring Copland\u2019s \u2018Appalachian Suite,\u2019 local craft beer and delicious BBQ.<\/p>\n

Tickets are on sale now for the \u2018Nutcracker Suite with Anna Celenza\u2019 on November 17th. Individual ticket prices range from $18.00 to $30.00 with discounts given to students and active duty military or reserve.<\/p>\n
