G.H.O.S.T. coming on Sunday<\/h3>\n

G.H.O.S.T. \u2013 aka Greater Halloween Options for Safe Trick-or-Treating \u2013 is moving back to the middle of campus this year, relocating from Fortera Stadium to the Morgan University Center Plaza (and throughout campus).<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s trick-or-treating event \u2013 which is free and open to the public \u2013 is 4:00pm-7:00pm Sunday, October 27th.<\/p>\n

APSU clubs and organizations \u2013 as well as groups from the community \u2013 dress up, hand out candy and play games with children from Clarksville and the surrounding area. <\/p>\n

G.H.O.S.T. is sponsored by APSU\u2019s Student Government Association.<\/p>\n

Freddie Ashley visits campus for Q&A<\/h3>\n

On Saturday, October 26th, the Austin Peay State University Department of Theatre and Dance and the APSU Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts (CECA) will host a public question and answer session with Tony-winning director and Acuff chair Freddie Ashley. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be at 2:00pm in the Trahern Theatre.<\/p>\n

Ashley was appointed artistic director of Actor\u2019s Express in Atlanta in July 2007. At Actors Express he has directed such hits as \u201cRent,\u201d \u201cThe Rocky Horror Show,\u201d \u201cEnd of the Rainbow,\u201d \u201cSix Degrees of Separation,\u201d \u201cKiss of the Spider Woman\u201d and \u201cGrey Gardens.\u201d He also directed \u201cCabaret\u201d for the Atlanta Lyric Theatre, \u201cThe Last Schwartz\u201d for the Jewish Theatre of the South and \u201cCamelot\u201d for the Aurora Theatre.<\/p>\n

[320left]Ashley is coming to APSU to direct the world premiere of world-renowned playwright John Patrick Shanley\u2019s new collection of one act plays, \u201cFive Savory Dishes.\u201d This collection of plays is being produced by the APSU Department of Theatre and Dance as part of the 2019-2020 Acuff season, which also features a Drama Desk-nominated director\/choreographer, a Jeff-nominated actor and the top flying effects company in the U.S. for the spring musical \u201cAddams Family.\u201d <\/p>\n

APSU hosting Brexit panel to help make sense of historic event<\/h3>\n

At 5:00pm on October 22nd, Austin Peay State Unviersity\u2019s Honors Program and APSU\u2019s President\u2019s Emerging Leaders Program (PELP) will host a special panel discussion in the campus\u2019 Honors Commons to help educate the local community on Brexit\u2019s potentially global impact.<\/p>\n

The panel discussion, which is open to the public, is designed to provide attendees with an understanding of how and why Brexit has occurred, and what effect it will have on Europe and the rest of the world. <\/p>\n

Get your tickets for the Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert<\/h3>\n

The Austin Peay annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert is at 6:00pm and 8:00pm Tuesday, October 29th. (APSU)<\/p><\/div>\n

The Austin Peay State University Department of Music will host its 35th<\/sup> annual Percussion Ensemble Halloween Concert at 6:00pm and 8:00pm Tuesday, October 29th, at the Mabry Concert Hall. That\u2019s next week, but you can get your tickets this week to the popular event. <\/p>\n

[320right]Admission to the Halloween concert is two cans of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $5.00. Tickets go on sale October 16th, and the event usually sells out.<\/p>\n

For tickets, drop off the cans of food at the music office, Room 139 of the Music\/Mass Communication Building, or purchase them online at APSU Marketplace<\/a>.<\/p>\n

APSU men\u2019s basketball hosts exhibition<\/h3>\n

The women\u2019s team hosts its exhibition against Tennessee Wesleyan at 7:00pm Tuesday, October 29th.<\/p>\n

Softball fall practice ends with Red & Black World Series<\/h3>\n

Austin Peay State University’s softball team will conclude its fall team workouts this week at Cathi Maynard Park-Cheryl Holt Field as the Governors hold their annual Red and Black World Series.<\/p>\n

The three-game series between two squads of Govs players will begin Monday afternoon and run through Wednesday, with Thursday being a rain-day makeup if needed. All games in the series are scheduled to begin at 3:45pm.<\/p>\n

APSU Govs soccer to host Eastern Illinois<\/h3>\n

The Govs will be back in action when they host Eastern Illinois for a 6:00pm Friday game. On Sunday the Governors will wrap up the regular season when they travel to Belmont for a 2:00pm game. <\/p>\n

The Govs sit in seventh place in the Ohio Valley Conference standings with the top eight teams qualifying for the tournament.<\/p>\n

\u2018Do it\u2019 exhibit continues<\/h3>\n

Austin Peay State University\u2019s 10-week run of the international \u201cdo it\u201d exhibit continues at The New Gallery in the Art + Design building on campus. The exhibit runs through December 6th.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo it\u201d is a 26-year global phenomenon that is a compendium of 400 written instructions by artists interpreted anew every time they are enacted. The New Gallery will have 22 sets of instructions by artists such as Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Adrian Piper, Yoko Ono, Alison Knowles, Sol LeWitt, David Lynch and Joan Jonas. <\/p>\n
