\"GatewayClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Gateway Chamber Orchestra will host Transfigured Night, their second Masterworks Series concert of the 2019-20 season, on Sunday, November 3rd, at 4:00pm.<\/p>\n

Soar through darkness into light with the dramatic program of works by the renowned Ottorino Respighi, Claude Debussy and Arnold Schoenberg. GCO harpist Paula Bressman casts light onto Debussy\u2019s beautiful Danses with grace and elegance.<\/p>\n

Schoenberg\u2019s stunning Transfigured Night pushes the GCO\u2019s boundaries to new heights in a performance you will not want to miss.<\/p>\n

The Masterworks Series includes four concerts exploring established masterworks, overlooked treasures and works by contemporary American composers. This season, titled Emotion Abounds, presents a slate of powerful and emotional programs featuring favorite composers of the GCO, including Mozart, Schubert, Schoenburg, and, of course, Haydn, who will be celebrated in the annual America\u2019s Haydn Festival on April 5th, 2020.<\/p>\n

The season also includes a number of special events, such as the annual Family Series concert featuring Tchaikovsky\u2019s and Duke Ellington\u2019s Nutcracker Suite with a special reading by celebrated children\u2019s author Anna Celenza, and the holiday favorite Winter Baroque. The season will culminate with the 2nd annual BBQ, Brews & Beethoven featuring Copland\u2019s Appalachian Suite, local craft beer and delicious BBQ.<\/p>\n

Individual ticket prices to Transfigured Night range from $18.00 to $30.00 with discounts given to students and active duty military or reserve. The GCO is a nationally-recognized cultural institution committed to enriching lives through innovative concerts, distinctive recordings and inspiring educational programs. The GCO tugs at heartstrings in this concert featuring GCO cellist, Meghan Berindean. Works from Felix Mendelssohn and Jacques Ibert lead up to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s powerful Gran Partita<\/em> serenade, a “signature” work for the GCO featured on our debut recording and received national media praise.<\/p>\n

America\u2019s Haydn Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

The final Masterworks concert honors the late Franz Joseph Haydn at our second Annual America\u2019s Haydn Festival. The multi-day event includes string quartet, full orchestra and choir performances of works from the famed composer.    <\/p>\n
