House II is presented a $30,000 check from (Middle) Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Consul-General of Japan.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>APSU and CMCSS launched the major partnership in 2018 to become the state\u2019s first public education institutions to offer both Japanese and Korean language courses to students.<\/p>\n<p>The new classes, funded by grants from The Japan Foundation and the ALLEX Foundation, were developed to better serve the Japanese- and Korean-owned businesses investing in this region.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever I have an opportunity to say a few words in Tennessee, I like to speak about the strong relationship between the state and Japan,\u201d Kobayashi stated. \u201cThanks to the support of community leaders, the number of Japanese companies in Tennessee has grown to 200.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>CMCSS and APSU will utilize this grant funding to continue supporting the Japanese language partnership. Currently, the two institutions share an instructor, Dr. Mitsutoshi Inaba, who spends 60 percent of his time at APSU and 40 percent of his time at Clarksville High\u2019s Academy of Business and Finance.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEach year Japan funds assistance grants to support Japanese language programs through the Japan Foundation,\u201d Kobayashi said. \u201cI am pleased to present this grant to Austin Peay and Clarksville High School to continue their grassroots partnership.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact Anthony Johnson at <a href=\"mailto:anthony.johnson@cmcss.net\">anthony.johnson@cmcss.net<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Clarksville, TN &#8211; Hiroyuki Kobayashi, Consul-General of Japan, presented President Alisa White of Austin Peay State University (APSU) and Director Millard L.
