\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – On Tuesday, October 1st, 2019,  the Austin Peay State University (APSU) Science on Tap \u2013 which drew more than 75 people to Strawberry Alley Ale Works\u2019 Pilsner Room last month at its inaugural gathering \u2013 is set to return 5:30pm at the same location.<\/p>\n

Science on Tap is a monthly lecture series hosted by APSU\u2019s College of STEM that unites two great things: science and local brews. This month\u2019s gathering doubles down on that second part.<\/p>\n

APSU chemistry professor Dr. Allen Chaparadza will discuss the science of beer, aka fermentation. The title of Chaparadza\u2019s talk is \u201cLooks Good, Tastes Good but What\u2019s More?\u201d<\/p>\n

In September, Dr. J. Allyn Smith \u2013 an astrophysicist who teaches in the Department of Physics, Engineering and Astronomy \u2013 discussed black holes. Science on Tap is the first Tuesday of every month, and future topics could include Clarksville\u2019s sinkhole topography, the newly discovered Screaming Eagle Crayfish and the New Madrid Fault.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is all really neat stuff,\u201d Smith said. \u201c\u2018Science on Tap\u2019 is a great way to spend a Tuesday evening meeting members of the community, meeting Austin Peay people, having fun and learning something about science.\u201d<\/p>\n
