\"GatewayClarksville, TN<\/strong> – On Sunday, September 29th, 2019, the Gateway Chamber Orchestra will host their first concert of the 2019-20 season Masterworks Series at 7:30pm. Season tickets are on sale now, as well as tickets for the opening concert titled \u2018Artistry of Lorna McGhee.\u2019<\/p>\n

Gateway Chamber Orchestra kicks off their emotion-packed new season \u2013 Emotion Abounds \u2013 with powerful works from Gabriel Faure, Carl Reinecke and Franz Schubert.<\/p>\n

The orchestra welcomes Lorna McGhee, principal flute of the Pittsburgh Symphony, for Reinecke\u2019s gripping concerto. Schubert provides a dramatic finale to the season opener with his “Tragic” symphony.<\/p>\n

The Masterworks Series includes four concerts exploring established masterworks, overlooked treasures and works by contemporary American composers. The season will culminate with the annual \u2018America\u2019s Haydn Festival\u2019 on April 5th, 2020.<\/p>\n

Individual ticket prices range from $18.00 to $30.00 with discounts given to students and active duty military or reserve.<\/p>\n

The Gateway Chamber Orchestra is a nationally-recognized cultural institution committed to enriching lives through innovative concerts, distinctive recordings and inspiring educational programs. The GCO tugs at heartstrings in this concert featuring GCO cellist, Meghan Berindean. Works from Felix Mendelssohn and Jacques Ibert lead up to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart\u2019s powerful Gran Partita<\/em> serenade, a “signature” work for the GCO featured on our debut recording and received national media praise.<\/p>\n

America\u2019s Haydn Festival<\/strong><\/p>\n

Franz Joseph Haydn \u2013 Symphony No. 49 in F minor, “La passione”<\/em>
\nFranz Joseph Haydn \u2013 “Lord Nelson” Mass<\/em><\/p>\n

The final Masterworks concert honors the late Franz Joseph Haydn at our second Annual America\u2019s Haydn Festival. The multi-day event includes string quartet, full orchestra and choir performances of works from the famed composer.    <\/p>\n

Winter Baroque<\/strong><\/p>\n

The GCO Chamber Choir joins us to celebrate the holidays in the annual Winter Baroque featuring Baroque classics and the crowd favorite sing-along. The performance will be held at Madison Street United Methodist Church.<\/p>\n
