\"RiverFestClarksville, TN<\/strong> – On Saturday, September 7th, the 2019 Clarksville Riverfest Regatta took place at the McGregor Park Park Boat Ramp at 1:00pm. Fan-favorite cardboard boat race is celebrating it’s 13th year.<\/p>\n

The Riverfest Regatta is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River were made of cardboard or plastic bottles along with a few other approved materials.<\/p>\n

27 Teams took part in the 2019 Riverfest Regatta.<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/p>\n

Twenty-seven teams competed not only for bragging rights, but trophies.<\/p>\n

Kenwood Middle School had 12 students and 4 boats in the race.<\/p>\n

“On our team at the school, we built one boat per home room over the past few weeks and we are here to compete with the rest of the youth programs,” said Kenwood Middle School teacher Brooke Kristina.<\/p>\n

“No body got hurt. We are so thankful for the 27 teams that came out and participated. We look forward to an even better event next year,” stated Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.<\/p>\n

“Come out tonight and enjoy the headliner, Montgomery Gentry. It should be a grand time, a big crowd and we look forward to a fun, safe time,” stated Mayor Pitts.<\/p>\n

Trophies were awarded to the first, second, and third-place teams in each division.<\/p>\n
