Fan-favorite cardboard boat race is celebrating it&#8217;s 13th year.<\/p>\n<p>The Riverfest Regatta is not your typical boat race. The boats racing down the Cumberland River were made of cardboard or plastic bottles along with a few other approved materials.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_463153\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2019-Riverfest-Regatta-109.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-463153\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-463153\" title=\"27 Teams took part in the 2019 Riverfest Regatta.\" src=\"https:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/09\/2019-Riverfest-Regatta-109-480x320.jpg\" alt=\"27 Teams took part in the 2019 Riverfest Regatta.\" width=\"480\" height=\"320\"\/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-463153\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">27 Teams took part in the 2019 Riverfest Regatta.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Twenty-seven teams competed not only for bragging rights, but trophies.<\/p>\n<p>Kenwood Middle School had 12 students and 4 boats in the race.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;On our team at the school, we built one boat per home room over the past few weeks and we are here to compete with the rest of the youth programs,&#8221; said Kenwood Middle School teacher Brooke Kristina.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;No body got hurt. We are so thankful for the 27 teams that came out and participated. We look forward to an even better event next year,&#8221; stated Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Come out tonight and enjoy the headliner, Montgomery Gentry. The 32nd annual festival will be September 5th-7th, 2019. Music, art, family events, and more will fill McGregor Park.
