\"MontgomeryClarksville, TN<\/strong> – In July, the first in a series of free community art classes will be presented by Habitat for Humanity ReStore and Art for Hearts.<\/p>\n

These events will feature local artists leading participants in a painting project on the theme, \u201cTurning Junk into Something Useful\u201d.<\/p>\n

On July 13th, Susie Yonkers will teach painting old cd\u2019s in the mandala style.<\/p><\/div>\n

Susie Yonkers will lead the July 13th event painting old cd\u2019s in the mandala style. A mandala (Sanskrit for \u201ccircle\u201d) is a complex abstract design. Kristi Huang will lead the July 20th class on Persian Style Tile Painting.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a perfect partnership,\u201d Habitat for Humanity Director Rob Selkow stated. \u201cWe\u2019re blessed with a large space and we want to share in that abundance through community partnerships that bring diverse people together.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe mission of Art for Hearts is to engage the community through participation in the arts, which is a great fit for Habitat.\u201d<\/p>\n

The classes will be held at the Habitat Restore at 408 Madison Street from 1:00pm-3:00pm.<\/p>\n

There is no admission charge and all supplies will be provided free. Participants should wear clothing they don’t mind getting messy.<\/p>\n

Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County is a Christian housing ministry that partners with families in poverty housing on construction of new homes through 0% interest loans and using donated funds, labor and materials.<\/p>\n
