Running around in shoes on ice while trying to \u201csweep\u201d a ball into a goal presents a unique challenge that includes a lot of slipping, sliding and falling.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Mayor-vs.-General-Second-Annual-Broomball-Game.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-441897\" title=\"Mayor vs. General Second Annual Broomball Game\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/Mayor-vs.-General-Second-Annual-Broomball-Game-480x271.jpg\" alt=\"Mayor vs. General Second Annual Broomball Game\" width=\"480\" height=\"271\"\/><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Last year General Poppas and his team were victorious. Mayor Durrett and his team will work to score the win this year.<\/p>\n<p>Food and drinks will be available at Golly G\u2019s, located on site, or at a variety of restaurants in the downtown area. Page\u2019s Clarksville Sporting Goods is sponsoring the equipment for the event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWednesday night\u2019s event is an opportunity to cheer on the County team and our local heroes from Fort Campbell. It\u2019s going to be a good time for everyone,\u201d said Mayor Durrett.<\/p>\n<p>The Downtown Commons construction was not completed when the 2018 Broomball Game was played which limited the amount of space people had to view the game. Completion of the outdoor event venue in April 2018, opened up the one block area.
