Cole, the highest-ranking noncommissioned officer in the U.S. Navy Education and Training Command and Austin Peay State University alumnus, will be the guest speaker at Austin Peay\u2019s Winter 2018 Military and Veteran Recognition Ceremony next week.<\/p>\n<p>The ceremony, set for 5:30pm on Wednesday, December 12th, 2018 in the Morgan University Center Ballroom, honors Austin Peay\u2019s graduating students who are veterans, reservists or active-duty military personnel.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_439905\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Navy-Master-Chief-Mamudu-K.-Cole.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-439905\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-439905\" title=\"Navy Master Chief Mamudu Cole to speak at the Austin Peay State University Winter 2018 Military and Veteran Recognition Ceremony.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Navy-Master-Chief-Mamudu-K.-Cole-480x300.jpg\" alt=\"Navy Master Chief Mamudu Cole to speak at the Austin Peay State University Winter 2018 Military and Veteran Recognition Ceremony.\" width=\"480\" height=\"300\"\/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-439905\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Navy Master Chief Mamudu Cole to speak at the Austin Peay State University Winter 2018 Military and Veteran Recognition Ceremony.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>As part of the ceremony, each student will receive a red, white and blue graduation cord and one of the University\u2019s special military coins.<\/p>\n<p>Austin Peay is Tennessee\u2019s largest provider of higher education to military-affiliated students, with more than 2,650 enrolled students having a military connection in the fall of 2018. In 2011, the University created a military coin to honor those individuals.<\/p>\n<p>Cole, a native of Freetown, Sierra Leone, enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 1990. While in the service, he earned a Bachelor of Science from Austin Peay, a Master of Health Care from Webster University and a doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Northcentral University.<\/p>\n<p>He is also a graduate of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief\/Chief of the Boat Capstone Course, U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy and the National Defense University Keystone Course. He is designated a Master Training Specialist and is a specialist in aviation, surface and Fleet Marine Force warfare.<\/p>\n<p>Cole assumed his current assignment as the Naval Education and Training Command force master chief in March 2016.
