Included in the show\u2019s thirty paintings are animals appearing to burst through paper and up-close vividly hued flowers; as well as, more traditionally painted birds in uncluttered blue backgrounds.<\/p>\n<p>Engel is amazed and fascinated with color and texture, seeking to capture the richness of life. \u201cFor me,\u201d Engel explains, \u201cevery morning is a fresh opportunity to find extraordinary joy in the most ordinary things.<\/p>\n<p>My art overflows out of that joy.\u201d Camille has dedicated 2-1\/2 years toward research and reference for the artwork, spending another 18 months to create the paintings presented. The winning artworks were professionally framed by Jerry\u2019s Artarama and scanned by Chromatics, Nashville, Tennessee.<\/p>\n<p>Considering herself to be a self-taught artist, Engel works in the \u201cindirect layering\u201d technique of the Dutch Masters to create her paintings.
