\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – The Clarksville Community Concert Association and the Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts invite the community to enjoy a beautiful evening of chamber music 7:30pm Friday, September 28th, 2018 as APSU welcomes the Mir\u00f3 Quartet to the stage of the George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall.<\/p>\n

During the week, the Mir\u00f3 Quartet will be in residence at APSU as a holder of the Roy Acuff Chair of Excellence. In that capacity, they will work with APSU music majors, high school students from the region at the Honor Orchestra Festival and perform on Nashville Public Radio\u2019s \u201cLive in Studio C.\u201d<\/p>\n

The visit will culminate with this concert for our community with the music of Robert Schumann, Pulitzer Prize-winner Kevin Puts and Ludwig van Beethoven. The Mir\u00f3 Quartet performs throughout the world, garnering accolades from audiences and critics alike.<\/p>\n

This concert opens the CCCA 2018-19 season. Future concerts will feature Latin Grammy-winning pianist, Gabriela Montero; the extraordinary and entertaining Gomalan Brass Quintet; Tenors Cook, Dixon and Young (as seen on PBS\u2019s \u201cGreat Performances\u201d); and the Joel Frahm\/David Berkman Duo headlining the Mid-South Jazz Festival.<\/p>\n
