\"MontgomeryClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Montgomery Central High School recently held its Class of 2018 Commencement Exercises at APSU’s Dunn Center.<\/p>\n

After the traditional processional, followed by the presentation of colors and the national anthem, Senior Class President Kymberlee McFaul stepped up to the podium to welcome everyone to Graduation 2018.<\/p>\n

The senior choir performed, then MCHS Principal Christy Houston was up next to introduce faculty, special guests, and the ceremony’s featured speakers, Valedictorian Jerrianna Thompson, and Salutatorian Alexis Lancaster.<\/p>\n

Montgomery Central High School’s Class of 2018 held its commencement exercises at APSU’s Dunn Center<\/p><\/div>\n

After brief, but impressive speeches by both, Principal Houston presented the Class of 2018 to CMCSS Director of Schools, Millard House II. Upon his acceptance, diplomas were presented to the eager graduates.<\/p>\n

Once the students had returned to their seats, Student Body President, Jessica McCall had the honor of delivering final remarks to her classmates.<\/p>\n

Principal Houston took a few minutes after Saturday’s ceremony to talk about the Class of 2018.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe enjoyed this class,\u201d Houston said. \u201cThese students had so much passion about life and academics. they worked hard to achieve their goals, and involved themselves in community service. They are a unique group of young people, and we enjoyed our time with them from 9 \u2013 12.\u201d<\/p>\n

MCHS graduated 237 students this year, with some graduating last December as well.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur students were offered a combined $4.8 million in scholarships this year,\u201d Houston said. \u201cThe dollar amount was impressive, but we were very pleased with the number of awards that were presented. The number of students receiving scholarships more than doubled from the previous year.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur teachers have been working diligently to increase student awareness of the different scholarships that are available.”<\/p>\n

\u201cOur goal each year is to continue to improve. We are so proud of the Class of 2018, we look forward to what they will do in the future.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
