\u2018Christmas Around the World\u2019 leads big list of City activities<\/h2>\n

\"CityClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Celebrate \u201cChristmas Around the World\u201d and cheer on Coach Will Healy, architect of Austin Peay State University\u2019s amazing 2017 football success, at the 58th Annual Clarksville Christmas Parade beginning at 5:00pm Saturday, December 2nd in Downtown Clarksville.<\/p>\n

Healy, whose Governors gift-wrapped an 8-4 turnaround season for fans, will be this year’s grand marshal. He\u2019ll be surrounded by an array of floats and parade entries embracing the \u201cChristmas Around the World Theme\u201d through music, dress and decor.<\/p>\n

58th Annual Clarksville Christmas Parade is set for Saturday, December 2nd, at 5:00pm.<\/p><\/div>\n

Clarksville Mayor McMillan will lead the City\u2019s official tree lighting ceremony on Public Square immediately after the parade.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe parade and tree-lighting ceremonies are long-standing and dear traditions presented by the City of Clarksville,\u201d Mayor Kim McMillan said. \u201cWe invite all residents to come out for our unique lighted parade and experience our festive decorations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The parade route will begin on 8th Street on the campus of APSU. From 8th Street, floats will proceed to College Street and then to University Avenue. From there the route is the same as years past, going around Public Square, the Historic Courthouse and back to Franklin Street. From Franklin, the route will turn onto 8th Street, and then return back onto the APSU Campus.<\/p>\n

The Christmas parade is an event for local businesses, schools, and organizations to showcase their Christmas spirit by walking, preparing a float, or driving a fun vehicle decked out in holiday cheer. Awards will be presented to the first- through third-place winners in each division. Divisions include: Civic\/Church; Business\/Commercial; and City\/County. Judging will be conducted at 3:30pm Saturday, and winners will be acknowledged as they pass the judges stand on Public Square.<\/p>\n

The 58th Annual Christmas Parade is presented by the City of Clarksville and Montgomery County Government and sponsored by Clarksville Living Magazine.<\/p>\n
