This year\u2019s theme is \u201cWaging War Against Cancer.\u201d All money raised will be donated in memory of Josh Artis to St. Jude Children\u2019s Research Hospital to aide in the fight against childhood cancers.<\/p>\n<p>The Student Government Association (SGA) at Kenwood High School consulted Josh\u2019s family to choose the charity for this game.<\/p>\n<p>Josh Artis was a well-known member of the local community who was committed to working with youth. Josh lost his own battle with cancer last year and Kenwood wished to continue his legacy of helping others.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_372680\" style=\"width: 490px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Basketball-Score.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-372680\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-372680\" title=\"3rd annual Charity Basketball Game to be held at Kenwood High School.\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Basketball-Score-480x270.jpg\" alt=\"3rd annual Charity Basketball Game to be held at Kenwood High School.\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\"\/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-372680\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">3rd annual Charity Basketball Game to be held at Kenwood High School.<\/p><\/div>\n<p><!--more-->The game will involve a spare change drive, fun family activities, a presentation of SGA\u2019s donation at halftime, and a special \u201cglow out\u201d at halftime of the boy\u2019s game in memory of Josh and in honor of all those who have been touched by cancer.<\/p>\n<p>The KHS SGA has teamed up with the KHS National Honors Society and the SGA from Northeast High School to raise as much money as possible. Additionally, funds were raised through the sale of commemorative t-shirts.<\/p>\n<p>The entire community is invited to come out and enjoy the game. The girl\u2019s game starts at 6:00pm and the boy\u2019s game immediately follows. Tickets are $5.00 at the gate.<\/p>\n<p>Any groups, individuals, or businesses wishing to add to the donation to St. Jude are invited to contact Ms. Jamie Wright at Kenwood High School during school on Friday or ask for her at the game.
