The awards will celebrate the efforts of volunteers who strive to improve their communities through service.<\/p>\n<p>One youth and one adult will be selected in Montgomery County to receive this prestigious award.<\/p>\n<p><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Governor\u2019s-Volunteer-Stars-Awards.jpg\"  class=\"thickbox no_icon\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-331707\" title=\"Governor\u2019s Volunteer Stars Awards\" src=\"http:\/\/www.clarksvilleonline.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/12\/Governor\u2019s-Volunteer-Stars-Awards-480x294.jpg\" alt=\"Governor\u2019s Volunteer Stars Awards\" height=\"294\" width=\"480\"\/><\/a><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Nominees will be judged based on the community\u2019s needs of the volunteer service performed, initiative taken to perform the service, creativity used to solve a community problem and impact of the volunteer service on the community.<\/p>\n<p>Nomination forms are available at the Montgomery County Mayor\u2019s Office, 1 Millennium Plaza, and online at <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.mcgtn.org\" >www.mcgtn.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Nominations must be received by the County Mayor\u2019s Office by Friday, December 16th, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Mayor Jim Durrett states, \u201cWe know that Montgomery County has an overwhelming number of incredible volunteers that go out of their way to help others. Please take time to nominate those volunteers that exemplify the volunteer spirit and that make a difference in our community.\u201d&nbsp; &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Recipients of the Montgomery County volunteer awards will be honored at the Governor\u2019s Volunteer Stars ceremony in Nashville in early 2017.<\/p>\n<p>For more information call Elizabeth Black at 931.648.8482.<\/p>\n<p>Volunteer Tennessee is coordinating the Governor\u2019s Volunteer Stars Awards at the state level.
