\"AustinClarksville, TN<\/strong> – A popular holiday tradition returns to the campus of Austin Peay State University on the evenings of December 2nd and 3rd as the University\u2019s choral program hosts the Austin Peay Department of Music\u2019s Seventh Annual Holiday Dinner.<\/p>\n

Tickets for the dinner are $70.00.<\/p>\n

Hundreds of people are expected to gather in the Morgan University Center Ballroom on the Austin Peay campus for a fun, formal dinner that showcases the choral ensembles and includes a diverse collaboration of musicians celebrating the Holiday season.<\/p>\n

While attendees enjoy a salad and the choice of chicken pot pie, beef burgundy, tilapia or stuffed red peppers for a dinner entr\u00e9e, the University\u2019s choral ensembles and instrumentalists will perform an array of traditional and international holiday songs.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have several collaborations this year. Along with the choirs our guests will hear harp, flute, violin and cello, and this is all in addition to an appearance by the Governor\u2019s Own Marching Band,\u201d Foster said.<\/p>\n

Each year, the MUC Ballroom is decorated by Austin Peay students to fit the theme of the holiday concert. This year\u2019s event is titled \u201cHoliday Dinner Goes Medieval.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cPatrons who appreciated the Harry Potter movies will be particularly impressed,\u201d Foster said.<\/p>\n

Austin Peay University Choir and Chamber Singers will perform choral music of well-known composers such as Benjamin Britten, Ren\u00e9 Clausen, Howard Hanson, John Rutter and Claudio Monteverdi. Some of the holiday classics patrons will be treated to include \u201cWe Wish You a Merry Christmas,\u201d \u201cSilent Night\u201d and \u201cGo, Tell It On the Mountain.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cCreating a new holiday dinner every year is very fun,\u201d Foster said. \u201cPatrons have always enjoyed our themes, decorations, singers, and how dessert is usually paired with a song.\u201d<\/p>\n
