\"FirstClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Produced by The Downtown Clarksville Association, First Thursday Art Walk is a free, self-guided tour spanning a 5-block radius that combines visual art, live music, engaging events and more in the heart of Downtown Clarksville.<\/p>\n

With 10+ venues, bars and businesses participating each month, the First Thursday Art Walk in Clarksville is the ultimate opportunity to savor and support local creative talent.<\/p>\n

First Thursday Art Walk in downtown Clarksville<\/p><\/div>\n

The November Art Walk will be held November 3rd from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at the shops and galleries on Public Square, Franklin Street, and Strawberry Alley.<\/p>\n

The participating businesses are listed below as well as a description of the work they will be exhibiting and services they will be offering during the event.<\/p>\n

Customs House Museum (200 S. 2nd Street)<\/h3>\n

The Customs House Museum and Cultural Center is Tennessee\u2019s second largest general interest museum. It features fine art, history, and children\u2019s exhibits.<\/p>\n

Artist Information<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Customs House Museum & Cultural Center will be open with free admission from 5:00pm \u2013 7:00pm during Clarksville\u2019s First Thursday Art Walk.<\/p>\n

Local nature photographer David Magers specializes in birds. His work has been shown in various Clarksville venues, including the Downtown Artists Co-op, Silke\u2019s Old World Breads, Planters Bank, L and N Train Station, the Clarksville Public Library, and others. David has recently published a photography book titled \u201cThe Birds of Dunbar Cave State Park,\u201d containing recent photos of some 58 species, all taken on the park grounds.<\/p>\n

David will hold a \u201cBirds of Dunbar Cave State Park\u201d book signing at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center as part of the First Thursday Art Walk in November. The book signing begins at 5:30pm on November 3rd, 2016. Copies of the book are available for purchase at Seasons: The Museum Store, with all of the proceeds benefitting the Friends of Dunbar Cave and the Customs House Museum.<\/p>\n

A presentation will follow at 6:00pm in the museum\u2019s Turner Auditorium, where David will discuss the fundamentals of bird photography and the processes and techniques he used to capture the beautiful images contained in the book.<\/p>\n

The vital role of the Friends of Dunbar Cave in promoting, protecting and preserving the natural and cultural resources of the Park will also be discussed.<\/p>\n

This event, as well as admission to the museum, is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n

Edward\u2019s Steakhouse (107 Franklin Street)<\/h3>\n

Edward\u2019s Steakhouse is proud to host local artist, Regina Mick during the November First Thursday Art Walk.<\/p>\n

Regina Mick is an Army Veteran from many places but claims Oakland, Maryland and Clarksville, TN as home. She attended Austin Peay State University after getting out of the military. She graduated with a B.B.A. in Marketing and a minor in Graphic Design.<\/p>\n

She has been creative for as long as she can remember. Regina started drawing and painting at an early age. She is an expressionist artist using many different methods such as painting, drawing, sculpture, graphic art, photography and collage. Abstract Art is her favorite form.<\/p>\n

[320left]The rhythmic lines, colors and techniques all come together to express her inner most emotions that she often finds difficulty expressing verbally. She rarely has a set plan when she sits down to create a new piece.<\/p>\n

When asked how she comes up with new work she stated, \u201cI open up my heart and mind let it all pour out onto the canvas.\u201d There is always a much deeper meaning than what meets the eye.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Roxy Regional Theatre\u2019s Peg Harvill Gallery is proud to feature the work of local artist Billy Renkl during the November First Thursday Art Walk and in conjunction with the 32nd Annual Shakespeare production at the Roxy Regional Theatre, “Henry V”.<\/p>\n

Additional gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00am \u2013 2:00pm.<\/p>\n

Downtown Artists Co-op (96 Franklin Street)<\/h3>\n

The DAC is an association of talented local artists and interested patrons dedicated to promoting the visual arts in the Clarksville\/Montgomery County area.<\/p>\n

Our objectives are to sponsor art exhibitions of work by Co-op members and regional artists, to provide continuing support for the Co-op and its membership through the sale of art work, to encourage arts education with outreach programs and scholarship fundraisers, and to develop membership services which directly support the arts community.<\/p>\n

    Hops Java & Juice is proud to host local artist, Jane Olson, during the November First Thursday Art Walk.<\/p>\n

    Jane Sharpe Olson is a native Tennessean, originally from Memphis. She is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with a degree in European History and French, and a minor in Art History.<\/p>\n

    [320right]She is a practicing attorney with Olson & Olson, PLC in downtown Clarksville. Bright, strong colors and images permeate her art, and she uses mainly watercolor paints and manipulated, hand-painted papers in her paintings and collages. Jane finds inspiration in the works of famous artists such as Cezanne, Picasso, Matisse, and Kadinsky, as well as Abstract Expressionists.<\/p>\n

    The Framemaker\u00a0 (705 North Second Street)<\/h3>\n

    For over two decades, The Framemaker has offered a unique selection of frames and art services to the Middle Tennessee area.<\/p>\n

    The Framemaker proudly presents photography by Alison Hamilton. This exhibit is part of Clarksville\u2019s First Thursday Art Walk on November 3rd, 2016. An opening reception will be held from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The exhibit will remain on display at the Framemaker throughout the month of November during normal business hours (Monday through Fridat 10:00am to 5:00pm).<\/p>\n

    Alison Hamilton is an alumna of Austin Peay State University. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 2013. Since then, she has been capturing images with her Holga 120N camera. \u201cAmalgam\u201d is an exhibit of these Holga images. The artist states, \u201c\u2018Amalgam\u2019 is my love letter to the Holga camera and film-based photography.\u201d<\/p>\n

    The Framemaker is located at the corner of North Second Street and Georgia Avenue, across from the Clarksville Academy.<\/p>\n
