This exhibition features nine artists from Tennessee, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wisconsin.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tammy O\u2019Connor: Hand Shadows<\/strong><br \/>\nAugust 8th \u2013 October 23rd<\/p>\n<p>This body of work by Tammy O\u2019Connor is comprised of whimsical characters created with glass and shadows. The exhibit features sculptures from the CHM&amp;CC Permanent Collection as well as additional work on loan from other sources. Working in clay, wood and stone, Bryant creates masterful figures that are stylized, bold, timeless, totemic, authoritative, introspective and, at the same time, consoling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Eric Hansen: Dollhouses from the Collection<\/strong><br \/>\nAugust 16th \u2013 October 23rd<\/p>\n<p>The series of dollhouse photographs on aluminum by the award-winning photographer Eric Hansen are on exhibit.<\/p>\n<h3>Activities<\/h3>\n<p><strong>First Thursday Art Walk: Nina Covington<\/strong><br \/>\nThursday, September 1st, 5:00pm \u2013 7:00pm<\/p>\n<p>Photographer and art model Nina Covington presents a series of 12 mixed media pieces. Her images on 20&#215;30 canvas are painted on with acrylic paint and gel, and explore the technique of long exposures. Nina Covington will be present at the museum during downtown Clarksville&#8217;s First Thursday Art Walk from 5:00pm &#8211; 7:00pm to answer questions and discuss her work.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Second Saturday Free Admission Day: Pokemon Party<\/strong><br \/>\n[320right]Saturday, September 10th, 2:00pm \u2013 5:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>All ages are invited to put a smile on their Meowth with our Pokemon Party! We will be having all sorts of Pokemon fun and games, including crafts, Togepi Egg Carry, Agility Course, and a Pokemon Sound Alike Contest (with prizes).<\/p>\n<p>See what kind of Pokemon you can catch around the museum with Pokemon Go; then see if you can beat our gym. Admission is free all day from 10:00am \u2013 5:00pm as part of our Second Saturday Free Admission Day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Family Free Day: Let\u2019s Make Faces<\/strong><br \/>\nSaturday, September 10th, 10:00am \u2013 4:30pm.<\/p>\n<p>Take a mini scavenger hunt tour of the exhibit, Olen Bryant: Tennessee Treasure. What kind of bird is included in this collection of the artist\u2019s works? Visit the Children\u2019s Art Room. From a variety of materials, create some unusual faces of your family. Admission is free all day from 10:00am \u2013 5:00pm as part of our Second Saturday Free Admission Day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Art for Young Children: Making Collages<\/strong><br \/>\nSeptember 14th &amp; 15th, 10:15am \u2013 10:45am<\/p>\n<p>Join Ms. Sue in the Children\u2019s Art Room for this guided art experience that incorporates the basic elements of art used by professionals and beginners alike. Recommended for children 2 \u2013 5 years old and their adults.<\/p>\n<p>This month\u2019s activity highlights the collage illustrations of Eric Carle, author and illustrator of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. Your young artist will use cutting, tearing, and gluing in the creation of his\/her own collage masterpiece. Look for a new activity the second Wednesday and Thursday of every month through May 2017.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Collectors\u2019 Day for Grandparents &amp; Grandchildren<\/strong><br \/>\nSeptember 11th &#8211; Grandparents\u2019 Day, 2:00pm \u2013 2:30pm<\/p>\n<p>Join Ms. Sue in the Turner Auditorium for this \u201cShow &amp; Tell\u201d event that features her brick, bear, and book collections, as well items from the former Soviet Union.<\/p>\n<p>Brian Lewis\u2019s collection of 1980s Star War action figures will be included in this \u201cPlease Touch\u201d activity.<\/p>\n<p>All activities are free with your museum membership. Our volunteer engineers \u201cride the rails\u201d every Sunday afternoon from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.<\/p>\n<p>Regular museum hours are 10:00am to 5:00pm Tuesday through Saturday, and 1:00pm to 5:00pm on Sundays.
