\"ClarksvilleClarksville, TN<\/strong> – Clarksville Parks and Recreation is joining forces with the Clarksville Police Department to bring forth \u201cBridging the Gap\u201d as a part of the Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights program on Wednesday, June 22nd at the Kleeman Recreation Center.<\/p>\n

The event will take place from 5:30pm to 9:00pm.<\/p>\n

\"2016<\/a>Bridging the Gap will include a free, 5-on-5 basketball tournament for teens, ages 14 and older at the Kleeman Recreation Center.<\/p>\n

Anyone wishing to participate in this tournament must be at the location no later than 5:45pm to sign up.<\/p>\n

Clarksville Police Department officers will show their skills on the court alongside Clarksville\u2019s youth and young adults. The winning team will receive a trophy and recognized as the Summer Night Lights Champions!<\/p>\n

Officers will also be onsite to enjoy the other featured festivities – games, activities, inflatables, and face painting. Manna Caf\u00e9 Ministries will also provide a meal free of charge.<\/p>\n

In addition, Clarksville Parks and Recreation has partnered with the United Way of the Greater Clarksville Region to distribute over 300 donated books to local youth during the event.<\/p>\n

About Mayor\u2019s Summer Night Lights<\/h3>\n

Since its inception four years ago, the program strives to create a fun and positive atmosphere for youth and teens during summer months. Held every Monday and Wednesday evening from 5:30pm to 9:30pm through July 27th, it features a multitude of activities including a DJ, dance team competitions, sports tournaments, inflatables, arts & crafts, motivational speakers, and a free meal.<\/p>\n
