As demands grow, caregivers often report feelings of sadness, stress, guilt, anger, isolation, and depression. The Alzheimer\u2019s Association\u00ae has prepared a list of ten signs of caregiver stress. This can include thoughts of suicide or death.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cI don\u2019t care anymore.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Exhaustion <\/strong>that makes it nearly impossible to complete necessary daily tasks.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cI\u2019m too tired for this.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Sleeplessness <\/strong>caused by a never-ending list of concerns.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cWhat if she wanders out of the house or falls and hurts herself?\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Irritability <\/strong>that leads to moodiness and triggers negative responses and actions.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cLeave me alone!\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><\/strong><strong>Lack of concentration <\/strong>that makes it difficult to perform familiar tasks.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><em>\u201cI was so busy; I forgot we had an appointment.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong>Health problems <\/strong>that begin to take a mental and physical toll.<br \/>\n<em>\u201cI can\u2019t remember the last time I felt good.\u201d<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<p>Being a caregiver can be overwhelming, and the stress associated with this critical role can make it difficult to take action.
